FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I start my estimates with a standard rate of $50/hr. Once I get the details of the project and the budget of the client, I will see how things fit. I'm always willing to work with a motivated client to reach an amicable agreement that works for both of us. At the end of the day, it's about working together to create the best project possible.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always like to start with a personal meeting with a potential client in a neutral location. Have a coffee or tea and just discuss their project. Just as you can't put a blanket description on most creative work, it's difficult to put a blanket estimate on a project. By getting some insight into the project details, motivations, and goals, I can create an ideal plan of action that will benefit the client.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold an AAS degree in Audio Engineering, a Bachelors of Music Education and will have my Masters in Music and Media Technology finished by December 2015. I have 20 years as a performing musician on trumpet, piano and organ. I have owned my personal business as an audio professional for the last 11 years. In that time I have done over 200 studio and live recording projects, consulting for schools, corporate clients, and independent artists. I have designed, supervised or run live sound and lights for theatrical productions, dance recitals, professional speakers, and musical performances. Some of the venues I have performed at or worked with include: First Ave., Fine Line Music Cafe, The Cabooze, Muse, Aria Event Center, Metropolitan Club at Target Field, Epic, Summer Set Music Festival, Lehr Theater, MPR Studio M, St. Paul Cathedral, Minnehaha Academy, U of MN Physicians, Mill City Museum, Wiseman Art Museum, and numerous hotels and country clubs.
