Jerrie was a pet sitter for my chihuahua Milo for years. She also would even house sit for me, and take care of him and my home when I was out of town. She was so patient with him despite him taking a long time to warm up to new people, he bonded with her right away. Jerrie is so natural with animals and such a kind and caring person. She goes above and beyond to send you updates, pictures, and even keeps a detailed notebook about how your dog does each time she dog sits and what activities they do (walking, playing, feeding). I trusted her completely to care for my dog and would recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable and responsive pet sitter.

Christine was wonderful. She gave terrific care to our two kitties over a 9 day period. Because of one cat's medical needs, she came twice each day and even though this car is a bit skittish, she was able to administer her medication almost every visit. The house looked great upon our return and our cats were the calmest very been when we returned from our vacation. Christine gave regular updates and even sent pictures at one point during the week. Christine will now be our go-to pet sitter!

5-day overnight pet sit of our two cats and dog plus midday dog walks. Our pets loved Megan and her staff. We received daily text updates with photos so we could tell how happy they were. No pet accidents inside the house either. Everything was well taken care of and the house was nice and tidy when we got back. Good price and well worth it for the peace of mind knowing our home and pets were being looked after every night we were away.

I hired Debbie to take care of my 2 cats over Christmas, feed, water, litter box and playing. I could not have been happier with the job she did. I came home to 2 cats who didn't seem to miss me much at all!? This was my first time using Debbie as my pet sitter and she has moved into my first go-to position. I knew from the interview she was going to be good because my cat Simba had no fear of her from the start. Thank you Debbie for taking care of my cats like they were your own!

I recently moved to Maple Grove and needed to find a cat sitter that would be reliable and provide the kind of care I needed for my 3 cats. As someone who feels my kitties are my companions, this was a tall order. From the first meeting, I knew I had found the RIGHT cat sitter! While I'm out of town, I need frequent updates about my "kids" and Karen would send texts messages with pictures letting my know all was well. When I got home, I knew all 3 kitties were well taken care of. Karen takes the time to be with the cats and let them know everything is ok. When I got home, I could tell they were very well taken care of - they were all very content and I will definitely use Playful Paw again. Actually, to me, there is no other pet sitter that I will use - top quality, great communication, priced right and above all - HAPPY PETS!!!

Ali from At Home Pet Care came into our home twice a day to care for our dog and two cats. She had to give medicine to the dog, feed the animals, walk the dog and bring in the mail. She left notes every day, left the kitchen quite clean and our animals were in great shape when we returned. One of the cats is pretty skittish and previous times, we have heard that the pet sitter hasn't seen much of him. Ali was able to entice Bilbo out of hiding and even pet him - I was surprised and grateful that she took the time to work at that. We are thrilled with At Home Pet Care's service and recommend them highly!

I feel like I'm leaving my dog to family when Tonisa is watching her. My dog is nervous around new people, though she warmed up immediately to Tonisa, who seemed to know exactly how to approach her. While I'm away, I love the updates I receive through the customer portal she has for her business (which also makes payments online very easy). In the portal entries she provides with each visit, Tonisa shares details of her visit with my dog and photos from her visit. I can't say enough to describe how happy I am to have her as our dog sitter. It really is like having family watch over our fur baby.

Taara did an excellent job with my long-haired chihuahua, Jax. We never used a pet sitter with him before and were quite worried he would not be very easy to watch. When we went to meet her, she was outside with her dogs. My dog is very vocal when he is scared and he did just that, but Taara just reached out, and scooped him up. She held him close and comforted him. At that moment I knew he would do fine with her. After dropping him off, she kept us informed with texts and pics of him throughout his stay. He actually made friends with an Aussie she was watching. She also had a spa day with a doggy massage and nail trim ( she asked if it was okay first). When we picked him up, he actually kissed her goodbye, on the nose, while I was holding him (that has never happened, he is very protective of us) Taara is a very caring and loving towards animals. She is very knowledgeable and I highly recommend her as a pet sitter and I definitely will use her again! 👍👍👍

Melissa was excellent. We were in quite a pinch - leaving for an international trip in just 24 hours from when I posted. She was able to swing by for a tour of the house and visit each day. Melissa/Let's Go is now our go-to pet sitter. So glad to have found her!

I have been thoroughly impressed by Paw Print Pet Sitting. Both the office staff Laura and my Pet Sitter, Shelly, have been nothing but courteous and friendly in every interaction I’ve had with them. I feel confident when I leave my furry babies in Shelly care that they will get not just essentials like water and food, but also genuine affection and play time. The fact that Paw Print Pet Sitting is insured gave me peace of mind to start working with them, but Shelly has been incredibly professional and I felt right away that she’d make a good fit. We live in Minneapolis, I really like that my Petsitter lives nearby, another neat aspect that Paw Print Pet Sitting does. The prices are very fair for the time and tasks involved, and every time I have a sit done, I get video updates along with texts as to how everything went. I know it’s a bit scary choosing someone to care for your four-footed children, but I can say I’d confidently recommend these folks to anyone in the Twin Cities area. Laura clearly puts her heart into her business, and I couldn’t be happier that I gave Paw Print Pet Sitting a chance. Looking forward to many more sits in the future!

Cameron watched my two puppies for a few days in a row and did an outstanding job! He is very friendly and connected with Paxson and Miles instantly! My two puppies usually have separation anxiety from being away from me, but they love staying at Cameron's because he makes it feel like home. He plays with them and let's them run around the yard, and gives them all the love and attention that I would. I had an excellent experience having Cameron as a dog sitter and I really felt like my puppies were in good hands! I will definitely bring my puppies back to Cameron when I need another sitter!

Ji was excellent and I would highly recommend her as a pet sitter. We have two large dogs and she handled them with ease, making sure that they were walked everyday and even spending extra time to play fetch :) We have used a lot of pet sitters, and were very impressed with Ji's services. She is very professional and you can tell that she truly loves animals. We have already booked her to watch our pups for another vacation. We could not be more pleased!

I provide loving quality care for your animal companions while you are on vacation or away on business. I am also available for house sitting. I have been walking dogs, providing litter maintenance, pet sitting and house sitting for 5 years now. I love animals and they love me back. I no longer walk dogs or do litter maintenance on a daily or weekly schedule. These days I am available for occasional or or short-term jobs.

    About

My business is great because of my over-10-year clients who keep me coming back because I love them like they are family; they treat me like family, and my clients have always been word of mouth and has been very successful so far. I do everything, from cleaning companies to homes and cabins. I'm asked by all to paint for my clients as I paint and clean as if I live there. I also do animal care and house watching, so my clients can take the vacations with no worries, as they deserve a few times in a year. I run a music studio during the day, so I'm well-rounded and great in the customer service aspect of it all. I have a BS in science for criminal justice with minor in German and am going for my masters now. I'm opening up an online craft store now, as crafting is my new love! I also have done tons of jobs doing cleanup after the death of people's loved ones and turnovers in 1 day for new rental clients for big apartment complexes and for many owners of many homes. I've done hoarding cleanup and am educated and trained in biohazard suits and equipment. I'm hoping that I may have the pleasure to meet each and everyone of you, and you can judge for yourself any ability that I may have and if you ask for a different job, I may have done that as well; if not, I'm willing to learn and try! See you soon!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

    • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
    • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
      • 45-minute visit: $28.
      • 60-minute visit: $32.
    • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
    • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
      • 12 hours: $100.
      • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32.
