My 4-year-old son has been taking piano lessons with Maisy from Pathway. Maisy is fun, flexible, and patient with younger students. At such a young age, my child has learned songs and theory following Maisy's instruction. The benefits of working with Pathway Music are having a teacher matched to your student based on readiness and in-home lessons. I would highly recommend Pathway Music, Maisy in particular, if you're looking for lessons for young children!
Though performance music lessons I was able to find an excellent teacher and get started on a new instrument
Fantastic! My husband and I are not musical, and were not raised in musical homes, so when our daughter started to take violin lessons there was a lot of apprehension, particularly with her young age. Dr. Lamb taught her violin and taught us how to help and be supportive. She has been a great influence, patient and kind, while still understanding how to push her forward. She is a clear communicator and sets both short term and long term goals in order to keep practice fresh and fun, while still allowing for the kids to reach their potential.
Our 7-year old daughter has been taking piano lessons with Alta from Bravura Music School for the past few months. Alta does a fantastic job working with her. Our daughter thinks Alta is pretty much the coolest person ever. Alta has made the lessons not only educational, but also very fun. It has been great to see our daughter develop not only her skills, but also a love for piano.
Mark helped our grandson with pre-algebra and was very nurturing and patient while teaching concepts. Nick really enjoyed his sessions with Mark and gained so much confidence. I believe the skills talked about carried thru in his other subjects as well. Mark is excellent!!
My 12 & 15 year old sons took beginner guitar lessons with Rachel. I was impressed with what they learned and the price could not have been better. They were motivated and looked forward to their lessons. I liked how she set up the schedule in the beginning of the summer and provided options for any of our normal days that wouldn't work. I wish I had also signed another of my kids up for piano. I chose Rachel because the price was right and I wanted to gauge their interest levels. We will return to Rachel because the price is good AND she's a good music instructor who kept the kids motivated.
Courtney is a wonderful instructor and inspiration for my daughter. We have had the pleasure of practicing with her over a year now with consistent results. Courtney is always on schedule, a great communicator and an excellent resource for all things cello. We recommend Courtney with no reservations and feel lucky to have found her.
Everyone wants things to be nice and easy and this was! I am looking forward to starting my lessons and the process made it stress-free
Amazing teacher, and a great person in general. On my first day I was tested to know know my range and was only able to achieve an octave and a half, but after a week I was I came back from an octave of 5 from the one day lesson and the home excersises that we're given for me to do. I highly reccommend this vocal coach.
Candis and her team do a great job for music lessons!
My son only had 1 lesson so far, but it was great! His teacher was so enthusiastic and made everything fun. He can't wait until next week!

I believe that life is a story that each of us is telling with each day. I am drawn to the idea of working hard to help other people tell the best story possible and I believe that music is one medium through which that I can do that. I know that music has made me a better listener, communicator, thinker, feeler, and developed many other indispensable skills in me. I want to use music to help others thrive. My philosophy is to contextualize lessons to each student's goals and needs so the musical journey is as unique as the person traveling. I have been playing instruments for 15+ years and teaching for 7, both as a private instructor and as a music leader in a church setting. I have a B.A. in Music from the University of Northwestern-St. Paul where I majored in cello. I am excited to connect!

Here in the Lab my students and I are music makers and problem solvers. I love helping them reach their goals through efficient, tailored teaching methods, and while I commit to giving students a little push when they need it, together we are a flexible team learning to make our best, most beautiful music together.
I give lessons in piano up to the advanced level, and I have a bachelor of music degree in piano performance. I also give classical guitar lessons up through the intermediate level. I play many of the stringed instruments (banjo, mandolin, violin, cello) that I could teach on a beginner level. I also tutor in languages. I am fairly fluent in Spanish and can get around in French. I have a working knowledge of many of the other European languages (Italian, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, and German).
