I'm a former vocal student of Calley Bliss, and I remember having a lot of fun while learning more about music, theory, and technique in her class. Calley is such a free-thinking and energetic teacher, and she brought so much spirit to the classroom, waking us all up in the morning by having us do yoga and letting us have short jam sessions (which happened quite frequently). She helped me finally get a grip on music theory, which I now excel in. We wrote songs and played gigs with her, and some of my fondest memories were doing fun vocal arrangements of a Maroon 5 medley and a beautiful one of White Christmas and performing at a Saturday Farmers Market. You're lucky to have her on your team!

I have only been taking the lessons for less than two months, but I absolutely love them! Jim is so clear in the teachings, patient, and encouraging. He is also very flexible in class timings and easily offers alternatives if one class needs to get cancelled or rescheduled. I was very nervous when I first started the classes (being almost 30 and never have had music lessons!), but Jim made everything seem so simple and achievable. He is a great instructor!

My two sons both studied with Shulamit over the course of five years. As a teacher, Shulamit was patient, yet motivating. She has a lively personality that both of my sons responded to. She remained true to her training and philosophy of teaching, yet was flexible when my son's interest was veering away from classical music. Shulamit knew that she was not going to become a different teacher, but she incorporated some popular music into his lessons to try to meet him where he was. As the mother of the student, I have always enjoyed my contact with Shulamit and have felt privileged to be audience to her magnificent playing.

My daughter has been taking singing lessons on and off with Priscilla for the last 8 years since she was 5 years old. Priscilla is amazing, she's very talented, patient, easy to work with and affordable. We have worked on and off because of the phases and lack of seriousness that my daughter has went through in stages since she was so young however she works extremely well with Priscilla and she has learned so much! We are looking forward to taking writing sessions and keyboard lessons with Priscilla as well!

Mark helped our grandson with pre-algebra and was very nurturing and patient while teaching concepts. Nick really enjoyed his sessions with Mark and gained so much confidence. I believe the skills talked about carried thru in his other subjects as well. Mark is excellent!!

Hello! As an adult beginner seeking to learn the guitar, I can tell you several things I've discovered through experience. Things I can state with complete confidence. 1) Learning to play guitar can become overwhelming rather quickly! With all the information available on line, through books and from friends who say they can show you, it's quite easy to waste a lot of time learning stuff that really isn't productive over the long haul. Sure, you'll learn quickly at first because you're starting from zero, but once you learn the fundamentals, now what? This is where the majority of guitarists languish for years rehashing the same old stuff and never really improving. You need competent guidance! 2) Speaking of competent guidance, I've had numerous teachers who were really good guitar players but after a couple of months watching them play, you begin to wonder why YOU aren't getting much better. They're good, you're not and you're not getting much better. You're wasting precious learning time. Playing and teaching are 2 separate issues. Being able to relay information is probably more important than the ability to play when looking for a teacher. Phil can not only play but excels at explaining music concepts so they are readily accessible to students seeking knowledge. He was the first instructor I was exposed to who had a prepared, written game plan. A step by step road map to mastering the instrument that he explains patiently and intelligently. He loves both playing and teaching the guitar and it is abundantly clear when you talk to him about the subject. I have yet to have a session with him where I didn't feel that I was better after our lesson than I was before it, and that is the main reason one seeks out an instructor. So they can get better! 3) Phil treats lessons like a professional. He's never been late or surprised by my visits. He is always prepared and that's one of the things I like best. He makes me feel like I'm his only student and that MY progress is what's most important. I'm not just a time slot to fill or a check to grab and cash. No ego or showing off his skills for large chunks of the lesson. My skills and my improvement is what matters most and my entire lesson, from start to finish, is devoted to that. 4) Music theory is a bit spooky, especially for the beginning student. The problem isn't the complexity of the subject but how it's explained and mapped out. Yes it can be complex but in order to truly understand the instrument, you must understand the underlying concepts of music theory. What I liked most about my initial interview with Phil was his interest in what I was looking to accomplish. I was questioned about my goals. What did I want to accomplish. Learn music theory? Learn to read notation? Learn to just sit on the couch and play the blues or rock or pop music? A combination of some of it or all of it? He had a path for any/all of it tailored to my wants and needs. I'm thrilled with the path I chose and my progress on that path but I'm reminded by Phil that the plan can change as I grow and learn which is as it should be. Flexibility in learning means more options which also means constant learning without stagnation or hitting a wall that equates to more wasted time. If you seek professional, intelligent and skillful instruction as it relates to the guitar, I urge you to seek out Phil and discuss your musical goals with him. He has helped me both understand music as well as the instrument. It's quite a thrill to honestly believe you are improving quickly at playing the guitar. I look forward to continuing to improve with Phil's guidance and honestly feel my goals are well within reach. Both my playing as well as my understanding of music is growing daily and I eagerly anticipate what the future holds for me and my guitar journey with Phil's assistance!

I am very thankful to have Anastasiya Nyzkodub as a teacher for my son. We were looking for someone committed to what they do and at the same time fun. I visited a few lessons myself and enjoyed watching Anastasiya's teaching approach. Also, having some music background in the past, I found her lessons to be very entertaining. I will highly recommend this teacher to anyone who would like to learn how to play clarinet.

Jessica has been teaching my son for the past month. She has a good rapport with him, explains what to do and how to do it simply and well. She provides provides and overview to verify he's mastered something before advancing to the next item. In addition she's encouraged him to succeed and challenge himself. He's been enjoying piano lessons and learning skills to improve both his knowledge and his skill.

Mr. Correa played at our wedding on 12/28/2012. The addition of a harp to the ceremony made for a very romantic event. I also purchased music CD's as gifts for our guests. Reuben also played a children's medical benefit at my request. Some of the medical staff remembered him from the hospital, as he played there a few years back, and commented how much they enjoyed hearing his soothing harp music during children's surgeries. Reuben's passion for playing the harp and his artistic ability are amazing and they shine through in his music. I highly recommend him for any event.

Maria's passion for music is very apparent every single week that we show up for lessons. I've been so fortunate to watch my daughter go from a little girl taking lessons to a young adult continually working on her passion. The lessons now are a true collaboration between teacher and student where ideas are exchanged and a deeper thought goes into conveying the artistic meaning of the song. Music has become my child's passion, largely due to Maria's guidance and compassion. I'm so grateful we found Maria to pass on this beautiful gift.

My twelve-year-old daughter has been taking flute lessons from Andrew for 1.5 years. He's an excellent teacher and enhances lessons with engaging information about musical theory and history. In addition, Andrew is the one music teacher in all the years of my multiple kids taking lessons on various instruments who has included in his curriculum actually teaching HOW to practice, backed up with the latest research on brain development and practical experience from his own performing history and classroom teaching. Andrew is very approachable so that the student is freer to play at his/her best rather than being so nervous or feeling judged. Andrew is skillful at giving feedback in a way that is both honest and encouraging. I strongly recommend him.

As an adult returning to piano, I wanted a teacher who was understanding of my hectic schedule. I had memories of my old piano teacher being very rigid, which made me loathe practicing and playing. This has never been the case with Abe. He is great at seeing each student where they are and challenging them accordingly. He has a wonderful sense of humor and knows how to make his students feel comfortable. I practice more than I ever did before because I love it. The world of classical music is beautiful and enormous, and I’m excited to start studying.
