Read reviews that mention:
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is fixed. I do not charge for ala carte items. I charge a one way mileage from my home in North Minneapolis, as well as a small processing fee for digital payment options. If a piano is in rough shape, multiple sessions may be needed. This can't really be assessed until I arrive. But, it will be discussed within the first session immediately upon tuning, so there aren't any surprises. I run a referral program. If a customer refers me on to another customer, and that new customer books, then this turns into a future discounted service for the original referral.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I can offer a range of dates for scheduling. Once a customer is ready to schedule, then I need to secure a cell phone, email, and street address to secure the appointment. I will send a calendar appointment and invoice over email, and a digital business card over text. Once a client confirms the appointment by releasing this information, we are booked! Once the appointment is over, then I post pictures of the piano, it's age, and a short video clip of me playing the piano on the official Facebook Page and Instagram Profile for CWH Piano Tuning. (No owner names or private details are released on social media.) These posts are public, and are ammunition for spreading the growth of my business. I encourage clients to share this at will. Future maintenance and recommendations are always discussed. It's my job to ensure you feel confident about the state of your piano, and tangible next steps to keep it well maintained.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In addition to earning my Certified Piano Technician credentials, I also have a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Music. I teach Music at the college level, and am an active performer managing my own independent Artist Brand. I approach my Piano Tuning in this way... as an artist and musician. Treating the piano with care (as a musician) distinguishes my work from other technicians, who tend to be more mechanical in their approach.
