Introduction: CWH Piano Tuning is my own company. So when you hire me, you’re supporting a small business and my family’s livelihood. I serve the Minneapolis-St.Paul area as a piano tuner and repair technician. I am a Certified Piano Tuner. In addition to earning my Certified Piano Technician credentials, I also have a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Music. I teach Music at the college level, and am an active performer managing my own independent Artist Brand. I approach my Piano Tuning in this way... as an artist and musician. Treating the piano with care (as a musician) distinguishes my work from other technicians, who tend to be more mechanical in their approach.

Piano Tuning

Curtis did a terrific job for us. We have a 92 year old piano and he tuned it as well as could be done! He was pleasant, knowledgeable and punctual. We were very pleased.

Linda, it was a pleasure to work on your mother's piano. I'm so glad you all are keeping it in tune during this season. See you all again in the coming months! Curtis

Piano Tuning

Curtis tuned my 78-year old baby grand piano - and I know it’s 78 years old because he determined its age. Working with him was terrific. He asked questions, made a couple recommendations, and my heirloom piano sounds great. Thanks Curtis!
CWH Piano Tuning's reply
Karla, it was an honor to get your piano in tune, as well as get the humidity control system installed on your family heirloom. You are taking great care of it! See you again in the coming months. Curtis

Piano Tuning

I would choose all five of the above categories. CHW Piano Tuning was an excellent choice. A piano that was not used for many years was brought back to life! Thank you for your good service.
CWH Piano Tuning's reply
Rev Alexandra, thank you for hosting me at Childrens Hospital to tune the piano. It is back to life, ready to serve families and staff. See you again in the coming months! Curtis

Piano Tuning

Curtis was really wonderful! We have a beautiful, very old piano that has been in our family for years. None of us really know what we’re doing, but wanted to get it tuned and looked at for my seven year old nephew who has taken quite the interest. He was prompt, kind and personable. We had to reschedule our first appointment due to a family emergency and he was patient and understanding. Not only did he do wonderful work, but he even gave us recommendations on where to find appropriate lessons specialized for my nephew who is autistic. We would recommend him to anyone and he will officially be our go to piano guy!
CWH Piano Tuning's reply
Hi Kim and Eric. It was my honor to be in the house and get this beautiful heirloom back at pitch. You guys are to be commended for taking such good care of preserving it as well with the humidity control system. This will only benefit for another generation of people! See you all again soon. FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My pricing is fixed. I do not charge for ala carte items. I charge a one way mileage from my home in North Minneapolis, as well as a small processing fee for digital payment options. If a piano is in rough shape, multiple sessions may be needed. This can't really be assessed until I arrive. But, it will be discussed within the first session immediately upon tuning, so there aren't any surprises. I run a referral program. If a customer refers me on to another customer, and that new customer books, then this turns into a future discounted service for the original referral.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I can offer a range of dates for scheduling. Once a customer is ready to schedule, then I need to secure a cell phone, email, and street address to secure the appointment. I will send a calendar appointment and invoice over email, and a digital business card over text. Once a client confirms the appointment by releasing this information, we are booked! Once the appointment is over, then I post pictures of the piano, it's age, and a short video clip of me playing the piano on the official Facebook Page and Instagram Profile for CWH Piano Tuning. (No owner names or private details are released on social media.) These posts are public, and are ammunition for spreading the growth of my business. I encourage clients to share this at will. Future maintenance and recommendations are always discussed. It's my job to ensure you feel confident about the state of your piano, and tangible next steps to keep it well maintained.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

In addition to earning my Certified Piano Technician credentials, I also have a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Music. I teach Music at the college level, and am an active performer managing my own independent Artist Brand. I approach my Piano Tuning in this way... as an artist and musician. Treating the piano with care (as a musician) distinguishes my work from other technicians, who tend to be more mechanical in their approach.
