The cleaning team (2) that was sent out from Dynamic Duo did a fantastic job cleaning our condo. We immediately got our entire 1K deposit back from the owners we were renting from, and they specifically commented that they were thrilled with how clean the place is. The bathroom and kitchen were both spotless, and their carpet technician, Dan, got an old stain out of the carpet and made them look like new again. They even threw in the windows for free. 100% worth the money - cleaning is the last thing I want to do when I'm busy with moving into a new place (but I still want my deposit back of course!).

This company did an incredible job on my carpet patch. I had new carpet, and stained an area that was very visible. They came and cut out the stain and seamed in a piece, and it looks amazing. They were also very nice to deal with, very professional service.

Great job! Our carpet looks great. Arrived on time. Experienced tech. Would have been nice to know up front that we would have to reapply the stain protection after having the carpet cleaned. This was an added expense we weren't expecting.

I needed to have the carpet in my basement (main room and bedroom) replaced. I went to Menards and purchased the carpet. I then put out a request to Thumbtack for someone who could do the following: tear out old carpet, dispose of old carpet, pick up carpet at Menards, and install carpet. I asked for estimates. Sage Flooring came in with the best estimate. Pat and another man (sorry do not remember his name) came, looked, and conquered my carpeting issue. Not only did they do a great job in my basement but when Pat went to Menards to pick up the carpet (which had been cut into sections--which was wrong) he was an advocate for me and let them know they should not have done so and had them cut new carpet the way it should have been. I am really please with their workmanship and their professionalism. I would hire them again if I needed any flooring to be done. Thanks again Pat for all that you have done for me.

I have used White Glove Cleaning for years. Their service is outstanding. Very willing to work with the customers for appointment times. They called the day of the cleaning to let me know how the planned apt is working out for the day and if any last minute adjustments were need on either side. Their window of arrival was only 2 hours. Fast worker or workers and treated those hard to get stains. I have 2 pets and occasionally my daughters 4 pets and we try to dog proof our house. They always get the stains out of the carpet and upholstery. It had been about 2 years since my last cleaning. Trust them - they are dependable and reasonable. You'll be happy. Love the fresh clean carpet smell!

Pete was very personable and finished the job quickly and we are very happy with our flooring. He pulled up all the carpeting, refilled area that needed cement filling, laid luxury vinyl tile. Excellent price too. We will definitely call him again when we do our next flooring project on the stairs.

We made a great choice using Perfect Touch Flooring for our new carpet. Adam was able to do a Saturday estimate which was very convenient. We were pleased with the selection and quality, and we were able to schedule an installation date promptly. Adam and his team were professional, clean and quick and we were very pleased with the results. Also with the extra touches, such as reinstalling the registers and doors and extra clean up. We would definitely recommend Perfect Touch Flooring to friends and family, and we plan on using them again for future flooring needs.

From start to finish, this was the best service we have ever received. The professionalism, convenience, process and customer service was so impressive. We were in the market to replace our first floor carpet and were referred to Joe Pederson of Floor Coverings International. From the initial phone call, I was so impressed by the level of professionalism Joe provided. We scheduled a consultation the following day. The consultation was informative and organized. I was able to discuss and communicate my needs while Joe took notes and measured the area. His mobile showroom was full of a variety of products that fit exactly what I was communicating, The ease and convenience of having the samples in the home was worth the whole experience. In the past, I have lugged carpet samples to and from a carpet retailer only to be disappointed when getting them home. This eliminated that frustration and inconvenience which helped move the process along more efficiently. We decided on a selection and Joe was able to produce a detailed bid within minutes. We walked through the proposal with him and received all the information necessary. We were never pushed and felt the pricing was very fair and accurate, We felt 100% that this was the right experience and company for the job. We signed the proposal and Joe told us he would call the following day to schedule installation. He asked for our time frame and preference and told us he would call with the details the following day. As promised, he called and had our installation scheduled the following week. We absolutely love the carpet, it was even beyond what we expected. The quality is incredible and the installation was a breeze. Joe scheduled a final walk through to ensure our satisfaction and thank us for our business. Honestly, this truly was the best experience and I would and will refer Joe Pederson of Floor Coverings Internalional to all my family and friends.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How often should carpets be steam cleaned?

Dirty carpets can be unhealthy for the people living in the home, particularly those who have allergies, so it’s important to have them cleaned regularly; simply vacuuming once or twice a week isn’t enough. Carpet cleaning should be done by a professional carpet cleaning service at least once a year to remove grime and help extend the life of your carpet. Most carpet manufacturers recommend professional steam cleaning, which penetrates deep into the carpet fibers and lifts out both dirt and the pollutants that get tracked inside. Steam cleaning also removes most of the moisture, so carpets dry quickly enough for homeowners to resume using them the same day. Between professional carpet cleanings, your carpet may need an emergency spot cleaning. Pet accidents, food or drink spills, and more can often be effectively cleaned with some water and a drop of white vinegar, although many cleaners will also make house calls for smaller spills and hard-to-clean spots like wine or grease stains.

Who cleans area rugs?

Like your carpets, area rugs should ideally be cleaned at least once a year to remove dust and dirt and help them last longer. In general, carpet cleaning professionals also clean area rugs. Some rug cleaners bring their cleaning equipment to your home, while others remove your area rugs and clean them at their facilities. Either way, the rug should be cleaned with the solution most appropriate to its specific fabric and construction. It should also be completely dry before you return it to the floor.

How much is the cheapest carpet?

If you’re looking to reduce carpet installation costs, there are several ways to save. Start by considering your carpeting needs. Manufactured materials such as polyester and nylon will be cheaper than natural fibers such as wool. From big box retailers, starting prices for olefin-based carpet are approximately 50 cents per square foot — making the cost under $5 per square yard. Indoor carpets made with olefin fibers are typically the least expensive on the market. Keep in mind that olefin fibers are not as soft on bare feet as other fibers, so are often used in areas like basements, playrooms or indoor patios. Nylon and polyester are good options to reduce carpet installation costs while still creating a cozy feel. The face weight, fiber construction and density of a carpet all affect the cost per square foot. The cheapest nylon or polyester carpets can start at just under $2 per square foot, making them about $18 per square yard. Lower-cost carpet tends to wear out more quickly and show stains more easily, so avoid light colors and vacuum regularly to keep the fibers clear of dirt that might age it too quickly.

How much does it cost to install carpet?

If you’re ready to bring new life into your house with a makeover from the ground up, you’re ready to learn more about carpet installation costs. Installation costs vary greatly, depending on a number of factors such as the type of carpet, the number of square yards, any necessary repair work, the number of stairs you have, and where you live. Due to these variables, the national average cost of carpet installation ranges between $200 and $4,500.

To start planning for your new carpet, measure roughly how many square yards of carpet you’ll need. Research the main carpet styles and materials you like to get a feel for what they cost. Nylon carpets are typically the least expensive, and wool is one of the higher-end carpets. Prices per square foot might range from under $2 to over $10, depending on materials. Count the number of stairs you want carpeted; each one might average between $3 and $10 (or more for box steps). Carpet removal can be an added cost as well, averaging $1-$4 per square yard, depending on the company and regional disposal costs.

How much does it cost to clean a rug?

Area rugs are typically found in high-traffic areas of the home, like hallways and entryways, so they collect more dirt and stains than simple vacuuming can handle. Similar to carpet cleaning, professionals can come to your home to deep-clean your area rugs. The national average cost for rug cleaning ranges from $80 to $120, but may be higher or lower depending on the rug’s size and fiber type. Rug cleaners generally charge by the square foot; for example, a standard 8-foot by 10-foot rug costs an average of $100 to clean. Natural fiber rugs, such as wool or silk, are usually more expensive to have cleaned than synthetic rugs. A carpeting cleaning company may charge on average $1.50 per square foot to clean a synthetic rug, $2 per square foot for a wool rug, and $3 per square foot for a silk rug. Some delicate rugs need to be washed by hand, which increases the price. Carpet cleaning companies often offer additional services, such as removing odors or applying moth deterrent, which can add 20 cents to 25 cents per square foot.
