FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing isn't really complicated, it is just as personalized as the ceremonies I write. I need to understand, and can help you define, what you want in your ceremony before I can give you a price. If you want to exchange a pre-defined set of vows in a ten minute ceremony, that requires a different investment of my time in comparison to a truly custom ceremony where I tell your story, write a personal unity ritual for you, help you select a reading, research cultural rituals you may want to include and write a 30 minute ceremony that pulls it all together. My fees are based on the amount of time I expect to spend providing a complete set of ceremony services, and fall within a pre-defined range. I can tell you want the fee will be as soon as I learn what you are looking for in your ceremony.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
This is a second career for me, following years as a professional project manager. I was drawn to this work to provide meaningful ceremonies for people who are not connected to a formal religious community, but who value recognizing the significant events in their life. I earned four certificates in ceremony work to develop the skills needed for ceremony creation and performance, and still draw on my project management skills to ensure that I deliver on all my commitments to clients in a quality manner.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Weddings are the largest part of my practice, but I also perform vow renewal ceremonies, funerals and memorial services and baby naming and child welcoming ceremonies.
