Introduction
I work with each individual to find the right combination of fitness, nutrition and mindset to achieve and maintain their goals. It is important to find the right fit for your lifestyle while making it fun and maintainable.I am a NASM certified personal trainer and Precision Nutrition coach. I would love to share with you how I can help you achieve your goals. Being able to be a part of transformations in fitness and health is amazing. I have struggled with finding a healthy balance myself, and am able to use those experiences to relate to my clients. Health and wellness is a life long journey that takes time, determination and dedication. I work hard to make sure everyone gets the greatest benefit from their hard work. Seeing the happiness clients feel as they get stronger, leaner, faster, healthier makes me forget that it is a job. I truly love what I do! I have been fortunate to train with Defiance Training, LLC through the Health At Work program at CSB/SJU. Melissa has provided vigorous classes varying in cardio, strength (hand weights/body weight), HIIT - you name it, I've probably done it. Her workouts are for ALL levels and include modifications to movements that accommodate fitness level, injuries, arthritis, etc. She is kind and compassionate and will listen to you and help you through the workout. We laugh, have fun and we work hard. I've gone from attending one class per week to 3 classes per week. My overall strength and endurance is at point I never thought was possible for someone my age (48 years young!). I've also participated in "challenges" where, through Melissa's coaching, handouts and advice, I've learned about clean eating, making healthier choices, meal prep/menu planning, overcome food and weight obstacles, setting goals and achieving them, how to factor in food/drink that I enjoy into my everyday meal plan and how to lose weight and keep it off. Today, I've lost nearly 30lbs and have never felt better. My confidence is up - I look and feel younger than I actually am. I make more meals at home and eat-out less (saving money!). My energy is up. I am able to sleep at night without taking something. I have bettered my well-being by eating healthier, making better choices and working out. I honestly would not be where I am today without Defiance Training. Thank you!!

This isn't your ordinary workout. It's open, inviting and you never feel out of place. Everyone is at all different levels and Missy is an expert with this. If a modification is needed she'll have it. You'll never feel disappointed joining defiance!
