He knows exactly what I am looking to obtain from lessons. He also does a fantastic job of making sure I understand where he is going with the lesson (and future lessons) and makes sure I fully understand before moving forward.

We hired Michael May for our October 2014 wedding. Hiring a musician online was, by far, one of the most concerning parts of our wedding. When I arrived at our ceremony and heard Michael and his vocalist rehearsing, I instantly began crying out of gratitude. Michael is a gem. He arranged the songs that were most important to us and played flawlessly. He went above and beyond for us and arranged all of the equipment that we would need to rent as our venue was a park that did not have electrical outlets. It can be scary to hire a musician online, but we would strongly recommend Michael. He is amazing!

Michael May is an excellent guitar teacher. I started with Mike recently and not only has my playing already dramatically improved, but my overall knowledge of how music works has greatly increased as well. Michael has a great ability to make very difficult concepts understandable, and he is well-prepared for each lesson. He is also a superb guitar player in his own right. I have taken guitar lessons at Twin Town, Blackbird's, several private instructors I found on CraigsList and am also currently taking a Minneapolis Community Education guitar class. We engaged Michael to provide intermediate electric guitar method and music theory training for our 17 year old son, who is an advanced base player. Michael has exactly the skills, experience and professional approach for which we were looking. He offers a structured approach that allows my son to set goals and track progress, yet he is flexible and friendly. We highly recommend him.
