Latest Review: I am a 34-year old and taking piano lessons for the very first time. Jess is professional, incredibly knowledgable and the easiest person in the world to sit beside and learn from. She is not intimidating or too technical for a beginner to understand and injects a lot of humor, historical music facts and laughter into her lessons. She's incredibly flexible and I have really been enjoying my time with her.

Latest Review: I have been taking lessons with Shulamit for about 4 months now, and her teaching has helped me immensely to improve. She is incredibly knowledgeable about all things music and is able to offer truly helpful insight that is rare among piano teachers. She is willing to help push me when I wish to strive for harder pieces, but also understands and helps me when I need more practice. I would highly recommend Shulamit to anyone wishing to take piano lessons.

Latest Review: 9 1/2 years and two children ago, my husband gave me piano lessons for Christmas. Sara was an awesome teacher for a beginner adult student. She understood that I had family priorities, but really wanted to learn. Slowly, ever so slowly, I was able to play basic songs! However, over time, and with added attention needed for my small ones, my lessons began to suffer. Soon I was no longer able to practice, so I gave my lesson time to my kiddos. For the last 4 (maybe 5?) years she has been teaching my daughters. The girls have VERY different approaches to music, and Sara has been able to keep them both interested & engaged with personalized music choices, reward challenges and just by being REALLY REALLY good with kids. She makes them feel at ease, easily redirects wandering brains, and makes it super fun. They end up learning & getting better every week (even though they don't practice as much as they should)! She has even been teaching a short lesson to our 5yo, who is eager to be like her big sisters! This past spring they played in their first piano recital. It boosted their confidence & made them want to try different, more difficult pieces. I cannot recommend Sara Diedrich & St Paul Music Lessons enough! Smart, talented, GREAT with kids, THIS is the place for easy going but thorough and thoughtful lessons that will have you looking forward to learning! Thanks, Sara, for being you!!!

About: I am an energetic pianist who has taught students of all ages and abilities. I strive to create a comfortable atmosphere and relationship with the pupil by balancing all facets of music. I seek to hone the skills of the student at all angles, technical and pedagogical, resulting in a greater overall experience of each piece. I have the unique role that provides an opportunity to present insight and tutelage passed down from previous teachers while still allowing the student to express their own musical thoughts and ideas. I have a doctorate in piano performance and a secondary emphasis in theory; which provides me with a thorough overall knowledge of all genres of music.

Latest Review: Carol is an amazing person as she is a piano teacher. I had so much fun learning from her. We would go over right after school on a weekday, and she didn't have to feed us, but she is such a kind and caring person. We would get a soda, sandwich and a cut up apple. My brother and I, he also took lessons, would always tall about how amazing her sandwiches were, and we could never replicate the taste. I had so much fun going to piano recitals that she invited us to. My brother and I did a piece of music that made us get up and switch spots and continue playing after moving. So much fun! Unfortunately, school became to much aswell as work and I had to drop piano, but if I continued I know that Carol Svanoe would still be my teacher and my dearest friend.
