Cindy's pet sitting service is exceptional! My dog bonded with her and she went above and beyond to make sure that the pets and house were taken care of while we were out of town.

Lauren took care of my three cats when my family left the country. In the past I have had to rely on friends and family to watch my cats and I have always been nervous about their care while gone. She was very diligent in sending me daily updates on how they were doing including photos! She made it possible for me to leave for the first time in many years and feel great that my pets were in good hands. She visited before we were to leave on two occasions to get to know the three cats better and those visits went a long way in making me feel confident that I have hired the right pet sitter. If you have felines, do not hesitate to contact Lauren. I will definitely use her skills again in the near future!

Terry did a wonderful job shaving down my very matted, very aggressive old cat. She works gently and kept cool even when my cat was getting out of control. She really is a wonder with cats.

Rachel was very professional and responsive to our request. She came to our house, sat with our cat, and made sure she had the basics...water, food, sanitation. Rachel also picked up the mail and collected the newspaper. The most important thing: she took daily photos and sent them to us.

I cannot say enough good things about this place! Top notch pet and customer service! I needed a last minute walk which I figured was going to be impossible. Not only did they get me a quote in less than 5 minutes they had me scheduled in 10 min from when I placed the ad! Very impressive! And was very surprised after the walk I received a text and email of a report card with very cute pics of my pup. I could tell she was happy and having a good time and that was so nice to have that peace of mind. They are gps tracked, background checked, bonded and insured. They offer many services and are very good at working around your needs quickly and effectively. I really felt like they genuinely cared. The owner or manager is the first one to contact and meet with you. They pair you with the best pet sitter for your needs and availability. I will say being last minute I did not experience the official meet and greet but I did get to talk to the owner who explained all this to me. Explained she was out of town and would get with me the next day to set up a meet and greet to meet me and my pup but told me a premier pet sitter who was amazing would be walking my dog. She made me feel comfortable with this process and I was not disappointed. I am excited to find someplace I know I can trust and my pet is treated like part of their family.

Diana did a great job dog sitting our boys. We were very surprised when we came home after a long weekend with the family and noticed that she hand wrote all of the daily activities that she did with our babies. You can definitely tell that she cares very strongly about animals, hence her current profession! Thanks Diana for the great care :)

I do pet sitting, including overnight and check-ins, and dog walking. I'm a college graduate with over a decade of experience, professionally caring for cats, dogs, horses, small animals, fish, reptiles, and snakes.

    About

I have always been able to have a special bond with animals and children. I don't really know what it is, it just comes as a 6th sense.

    About

I have a lifelong love of all animals. Playing, feeding, walking, and even grooming them are fun for me, and making money for doing what I love is just a bonus!

    About

I will sit 2 or more dogs only. I am a loving and nurturing pet owner, bonded in Missouri and Kansas. I will walk, feed, and play with your precious ones as if they were my own. No dog is too big or too small. I love pitbulls.

    About

I have many years of experience in pet sitting. If your pet stays with me, I have a collie mix who I have had for 7 years. Exercise is important when caring for animals. I am very active with my pet. I take my dog out for at least an hour everyday. If you have any questions, please text or call me.

    About

    About

I have my own pet service business and I recently got my LLC, so I am a licensed business in the state of KS. Provide boarding, drop-in visits & walks while you're away from home. Also, provide house sitting to make sure that your house remains safe.

    About

I take care of animals as needed while you're away/when you're there or just a onetime deal. I can also do house-sitting and light housecleaning.

    About

I love animals, and I believe when an owner is away for business or pleasure travel, our pets thrive on staying in their own home environment. I use the whisper method with horses, dogs and even with cats who are a bit feisty. There is nothing better for the inside of a person than the outside of a furry friend!

    About

Whether your family is going out of town for the weekend or going on vacation for the week, there needs to be someone you can count on to look after your home and/or pets while you're gone! I can care for your animals and home as if they were my own. I believe that I am a very trustworthy person and even though I'm new to this line of work and don't have reviews, I believe once I get my foot in the door, I will make any pet owner proud to have me as their pet sitter and every home owner feeling worry-free knowing that I'm holding down the fort. I do other things as well: dog walking, house-sitting, home cleaning (which is actually where my expertise are), spring cleaning, home organizing (kids toys, office spaces, cleaning out closets, etc.), running errands or accompanying you to an appointment, etc. I just like to help with whatever I can, which is a lot!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32. How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

    • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
    • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
      • 45-minute visit: $28.
      • 60-minute visit: $32.
    • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
    • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
      • 12 hours: $100.
      • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.
