Type of home organizing service
Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Would you like hands-on assistance in organizing your home or office? I provide experience, knowledge, guidance, humor, and support to get the job done. I offer donation services, before/after pictures, and recycling of some household items (styrofoam, metal, and batteries) as part of my hourly cost. I also shop for organizing products, recycle your electronics, refer you to other trusted service professionals, and much more. My customers love that I offer a comprehensive service that is customized for their lifestyle and needs. I'm a calm, methodical, and nonjudgemental person who enjoys organizing and appreciates her customers. Professional organizing is a very personal service, so I encourage people to shop around and compare before making a choice. I'm a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers. I've been in business for several years (although I've been organizing all my life), and I'm active in the local group of professional organizers in Kansas City. I also write a monthly organizing tip, and if you'd like to be on my distribution list, just contact me and I'll add your name. I hope to hear from you soon. Mary Ellen

Mary Ellen is a godsend and a blessing and a wonder all rolled into one. When I discovered that my ill mother was a horder of monumental proportions -- but that her home was a 3 1/2 hour drive from mine, it was easy enough to pack her up and bring her home. Taking care of her house while caring for her during recovery from a stroke and then breast cancer was nigh on to impossible. When I found Mary Ellen, she didn't even hesitate. She took the job knowing that I would not be on hand to supervise, opinion-ate or anything else. I told her to "deal with it." And SHE DID...BRILLIANTLY. My mother's house is clean, empty, and just recently S-O-L-D. Mary Ellen did it ALL. I don't know what I would have done without her and wouldn't have wanted to try it without her. She was and is amazing. I don't care what your issue is....Mary Ellen can help. Get you organized, get you re-organized, get you back on track or get you into a groove. SHE IS DA' WOMAN.

Mary Ellen was a delightful coach in assisting me to recycle my things and shoring me up during the process. It gets very overwhelming for me to make all the decisions necessary in culling my things, and she was very good at encouraging me and asking insightful questions which helped in my decision-making. She had some good ideas and her humor and tact make the process far less painful. The sense of relief and pride when the discarded items were out of my home was priceless. It was a very good use of my time in dealing with a trying situaation. Tahnks, Mary Ellen, your'e the best!

Mary Ellen organized our basement and helped us get back a lot of storage space. She organized several closets in our home including my clothes closet. Her hard work has really simplified my life. I would highly recommend her services.

FAQs

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Develop a list of your questions and concerns and then set aside time for a thorough interview of the Professional Organizer. Discuss your goals for the project, what works and what doesn't work in the area and maybe what you've tried already. Organizing is a very personal service and you'll get the most benefit from working with someone who shares your values and concerns. It's important to be able to tell the organizer what your needs are and when something is not working for you.
