What do you love about your job?
To be a practicing, professional graphic designer for a living is a privilege that I greatly enjoy. I've been blessed to have done so for more than 25 years now. The specific thing I love most about my job is helping clients to elevate their brand and communications to levels they didn't think were possible. I never tire of seeing the joy on a client's face when I present them the design concepts that exceed their expectations.
What or who inspired you to start your own business?
After working for three different, highly talented designers for the first 14 years of my professional design career, I knew that to achieve my full potential as both an individual and as a designer, I needed to step out from under their protective wing.
Describe your most memorable project.
One project that comes to mind is the re-branding campaign I designed for the financial wealth group Buckingham Asset Management. I designed a new client welcome kit which consists of a gate-fold presentation folder with button and string closure. There was also a six-card client services information kit housed in a sleeve. Another one is a die-cut open house invitation that invited new and existing clients to the office kick-off event, and lastly, a directional postcard to assist clients from out-of-town in finding their way to the Buckingham offices.
It was really wonderful to not only provide the Buckingham Asset Management with a successful solution, but to also present them with an Award of Excellence, a fitting way to thank them for supporting my vision to create something great for their company.
