FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $60 an hour and $90 for an hour and a half. If you see me on a regular basis, every week, 2 weeks or 4 weeks, I give you the package price per massage of $50 and hour and $75 for an hour and a half. If you want to save money on the hourly rate but are not able to see me regularly, then you should purchase a package of 6 massages for the price of 5 massages: $300 for six, one hour massages, and $450 for six, hour and a half massages.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My mom knew best! I was a Photographer when I lived in Chicago. I moved to St. Louis with my 6 month old son and my husband because of my husband's job transfer. I stayed at home with my son, and had another baby boy. When they were both in preschool all day, I tried finding a photography job. I hadn't worked in 5 years or more, and my last job had been in another city and state! I didn't know the field in St. Louis and had no connections. I had always rubbed my mom's feet and shoulders when I was a kid and she often suggested that I become a Massage Therapist. It seemed like a perfect time in my life to do so!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I typically provide 60 minute massages for clients who have high levels of stress in their lives, a chronic physical condition or injury or acute pain. I also work with pregnant women to manage the physical changes of their body throughout their pregnancy. If someone is experiencing acute pain that can be helped with massage, then I might see them 2 to 3 times in a one week period, working towards a longer time between massages. I really like to see someone once every two weeks, which seems to me and my clients to be the most successful time frame. However, once every four weeks works wonderfully as well. Consistency is key and I offer packages and discounts to encourage that consistency.
