You never truly know what you’re getting on thumbtack until you see the final product, but I’m here to tell you that Jonah is the real deal. I used him for a spoken word video and was very pleased with the end result. I would highly recommend for video construction/editing and I will most certainly use him again in the future.
Julie helped me out with my debut novel and did so in a span of two weeks. I was pleased with the manner of editing including grammar checks, word usage/choice, and clarity needs/additions of the story line. I intend to have her edit future novels of mine, and would recommend her to others as well.
Elicia is a wonderful editor. She is very encouraging, which makes her editing the best. There are some editors out there that make you question why you write, but not her. Elicia gives your story the shine it needs, in a professional and friendly manner. I can go on and on about her because of how much I tressure and admire her!
Karen has been my editor for all of my marketing materials for the last 2 years. She has done a excellent job for me. She always asks the right questions and ends up with beautifully completed work.
Cindy was my editor for my first self-published book, "Ride On!" and she has helped me tremendously on making my story come alive. Since I am not a writer by trade, she worked with me on skills I needed to improve, offered many suggestions, and mostly spent time with me. I highly recommend her for your writing and editing purposes.
Megan stuck with me to the end on this resume writing project. She made every change that I asked for and her communication was timely. I would hire her again!
Rick Bolner Austin, TX 78749 May 21, 2010 To Whom It May Concern: I have had the pleasure of knowing Dawn Lenz for the past five years. On many occasions she reviewed my fictional work and always offered keen insights and an attention to detail that I seldom received from others, including published novelists. Perhaps most helpful to me was her understanding of my work and what I wanted to achieve. With specific examples and suggestions, she told me how my work wouldor wouldntsucceed. Dawn never hijacked my work or its intended outcome. In addition to her comprehension of fiction, her application of formatting, grammar, and punctuation was exceptional. I recently read her novel Winged Victory. In it, she demonstrates her understanding of the far-reaching requirements of fiction. The plot had great narrative energy; her plot-point spins were perfectly timed, and she did a superb job of getting her protagonist into tough situations throughout the story. I found the predicaments believable, and the specifics with which she rendered them, convincing. Also, the story is replete with entertaining incidents. Her use of sensual details, which are essential to good fiction writing, added to the dramatic effect. I never gave pause to her dialogue. It was artfully set up through supporting narrative to give its delivery a pop and rhythm. Also, she skillfully used dialogue tagscharacters actions used in lieu of "he said, she said" locutionswhich is an earmark of a serious pro. Her setting of ancient Greece was compelling and accessible for me as a reader who knows little of that milieu. The physical descriptions, with other details, ratcheted up her verisimilitude and the overall power of the story. The narrative energy, along with its tightness, and professional presentation made me feel very comfortable and confident that the author would deliver. I wasnt disappointed. Obviously, if she knows how to achieve this in her own work, certainly its fair to expect her to share these insights and talents with you. Whether youre writing a literary novel, genre fiction, or if you just need a critical review of grammar and construction, I know Dawn will offer very valuable advice to you. Sincerely, Rick Bolner

I'm a location-independent editor and ghostwriter with a passion for helping writers create masterpieces. I've been a writer and editor in some form for over seventeen years. I know words, and I know the people who write them. There are tons of editors out there who will take your text, run a red pen through it, send it back and go on their merry way. If that's the kind of editor you want, we won't work well together. On the other hand, if you want an editor who will ask questions, make suggestions, call you out when you sabotage your own authority or let your emotions take over your writing, nitpick over using the exact right word, and give you a loving kick in the ass from time to time, all in the interest of making your work the masterpiece we both want it to be nice to meet you. :)
I have a B.A. in Journalism and a strong background in English usage and grammar. I was a reporter and photographer for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and the Belleville (Ill.) News-Democrat. I copy edited my stories and the stories of others. I'm reading some newspaper stories by Hemingway and I edit his usage. I mentally copy edit everything for usage and punctuation--newspapers, magazines, signs and billboards. "Maybe" and the apostrophe are misused more than they are used correctly I'm based in Collinsville, Ill., near St. Louis.
My master's degree in history combined with a love of writing gives me both the technical skill and the passion necessary to write and edit large documents. I also write fiction, primarily in the sci-fi genre.
