Mark Haynor and his crew at Installations Unlimited did a great job. Took an original 50's kitchen and two baths and made them modern and wonderful without losing the character of the house. Saved us a lot of money on cabinets. Very professional on estimates and accounting without any surprises. Great on constructing a new space for a deep soaking tub with a tiled lip. Took space from an overlarge hall closet to make a great walk in shower in the master bath. Mark is masterful on his tile work. Great accents and details. We will love the space for years to come. That said, the project took longer than expected and there were challenges with things like refinishing of the new wood floors that took longer than expected. But in all it was well worth the wait. Our home is transformed. Mark Haynor was highly recommended to us. We can highly recommend him to anyone else asking.

Shane created and installed some built-in shelves. He came to estimate quickly (on a Sunday) and completed the job within a few days. We needed it done quickly and he responded to our needs. I recommend him highly for any interior carpentry.

Wonderful. They came the same day, cleared out all my brush and items that needed hauling, and for a good price. Would definitely use them again!

Arthur is responsible and responsive. He completed exterior window and siding replacement, as well as interior trim installation for doors, windows, base and ceiling. He combines a very good eye and aesthetic judgement with excellent building/ woodworking skills.

The custom table built for us is beautifully constructed and looks great in our dining room as a side table. You can tell by looking at it that AC really put a lot of effort into making this quality piece. I definitely recommend them for any of your woodworking needs inside or outside the home.

It’s rare one encounters a standout, accomplished talent like Anthony Alexander in the home repair and reconstruction business. I have hired many craftsmen and carpenters over the twenty-plus years I have lived here in Asheville, and I can easily rate Anthony’s overall work as highly skillful, and his work ethic as superlative. The only difficulty I experienced with Anthony, was remembering which of his names came first. Like many of our Supreme Court Justices in history, his full name is interchangeable: Anthony Alexander, or Alexander Anthony. But, I digress… This is one letter of recommendation I am very pleased to write. Anthony is a consummate professional. He is proficient in his craft, and is a perfectionist in applying his knowledge to the task at hand. I hired Anthony to repair and reconstruct my deck (2000 sq. ft.), which suffered from an incompetent, unskilled carpenter (who had excellent reviews on “Thumbtack”) whom I had hired earlier to resurface, sand and stain my deck. Anthony was completely uncowed by the extensive damage and substandard workmanship left for him to repair. Anthony provided his estimate in a very timely manner. His cost estimate was more than fair. He did exceed his initial estimate as to how much time he would need to complete the job, but I had thought, myself, that it was going to take him a little longer than he thought – the deck was truly a disaster! Anthony worked as though this was the most important job in his life. He arrived at my home every day from start to finish (except for weekends). He never left me guessing if he would come, and, if he was going to be late (which was rare), he always let me know well ahead of his scheduled arrival. The end result of Anthony’s work is breath-taking. I could not have asked for a better outcome. I gave Anthony some “before” and “after” photographs which I hope he shares with you. If he is shy about this, please email me, and I will send you as many pictures as you might need to convince you of my ability in evaluating his work.

Justin worked on our home in Maryland. About 10 years ago. His work was on a level with fine art. He was meticulous, and the work he did stands as testament to his ability. His skylight in our hallway is as gorgeous as the day he finished. The floor to ceiling Pelle windows he installed in our bedroom remain solid as rock. The screening on the outdoor porch is as tight as it was when he left. We miss him so much...it's been hard to put up with anyone else. Justin, come back!!

There are hundreds of cabinet shops and good carpenters. One thing that sets me apart from the rest and that is "design". I have the creative artistic "gift", for lack of better words. Also, I serve my "gift" instead of serving "money" with the opportunity to be creative... money becomes less important. I love what I do. My works will be my legacy, and really, what else is there?

About

I am a 4th-generation woodworker specializing in solid oak porch swings and rockers. Every piece that goes into my furniture is hand-selected red/white "face" or 1st-grade lumber. I plane the lumber to precise measurements, and cut each piece by hand. This is not a mass-produced swing; it is made one at a time by me. Some of my lumber takes over a year to cure out in the elements. This feature guarantees your swing will never warp because I will plane the lumber down to remove all that does warp. You won't find another company that will go through so much to build a lasting piece of furniture. I use 1 1/4'x2' solid oak main supports. This is what your swing will be built on top of. I then use 3/4' thick arms, slates, and the top/bottom caps. My slates are 1-1/2' wide. I also use all zinc hardware and oak plugs when I countersink the screws. My biggest pride is that I build heirlooms, not just swings. My swings, with some effort, could and should last a lifetime, not just a couple of years like you see all over the internet and major retail stores. My biggest compliments have always been that they are so dependable and very comfortable. "Quality never goes out of style."
