- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My base fee is $4 per slice for buttercream cakes and $5 per slice for fondant cakes. There is a fee for delivery and set up that is determined by distance. And there is a $50 charge for cake consultations and tastings. Equipment rentals are $50 and $25 is refunded to the client at the time the equipment is returned.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When meeting a client for the first time, I first like to start out by learning more about them. That helps me when making suggestions. Once that's complete I ask what it is that they are looking for. I get their likes and dislikes and then we go on from there on what I can provide for them.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I was 12 my mom would always want help preparing the Thanksgiving and Christmas deserts. I LOVED baking so it was always fun for me. From there it just turned into a passion.
