Kelsay B. says, "My training experience with Hallee has been outstanding. I am stronger and feel better physically and mentally because of working with her. She is exceptionally experienced in strength training techniques and creates challenging, fun workouts. Her communication skills are excellent and she is also punctual and organized. One of things I like most is Hallee’s interaction style. She offers a great blend of direct verbal instruction, clear explanations about what muscles we’re targeting with each movement, and physical demonstrations so I can see what to do / not do. This is all peppered with her wry humor, caring check-in’s, encouraging challenges, and supportive redirection. Hallee is also easy to talk to. Sometimes, I can’t figure out how to correctly do what I hear and see her demonstrating and Hallee is always incredibly patient and creative with new directions and ideas. I really appreciate her willingness to stop me and correct or adjust my form to target a particular muscle or prevent injury. She is really dedicated to teaching me correct form so I build up my muscles and skills safely and progressively. Hallee also pushes me to challenge myself in ways I honestly wouldn’t do all by myself. I leave most of our sessions feeling sore, but powerful and pleased. About a year into our progress, I had unexpected leg surgeries and then a severe back and hip injury. Hallee stayed in contact with me during my recovery and as soon as I was allowed to come back, she modified all my workouts with guidance from my Dr’s and PT so I could rebuild my strength and balance. My PT has been thrilled with my progress and attributes most of it to my continued work with Hallee and the modified strength moves she has come up with to supplement my PT. I know I wouldn’t be doing as well with this recovery if it weren’t for the muscles and good form I’d already built with Hallee and our work together since the surgery. If you are serious about changing your body, learning about effective strength training, and becoming more physically capable in general, train with Hallee. Working with her is one of my best decisions and I only wish I’d started sooner."See more

We don’t do generic workouts or one-size-fits-all coaching. At Mohawk, everything starts with you—your lifestyle, stress levels, training history, injuries, goals, and the reality of how much time and energy you actually have. From there, we build a plan that integrates training, nutrition, recovery, and nervous system regulation so you can make progress without burning out. What makes us different is that we coach the whole system, not just the workout. Strength and conditioning matter—but so do sleep, breath, stress, consistency, and accountability. Most people aren’t failing because they’re lazy; they’re failing because their plan doesn’t match their life. You’ll work with experienced coaches who have: • 10+ years in personal training and health coaching • Experience coaching beginners, busy professionals, and high-performing athletes • A science-backed but practical approach to strength, nutrition, and recovery • Access to tools most trainers don’t offer: breathwork, sauna, cold exposure, and habit coaching We focus on sustainable results, not extremes. No hype. No guilt. No ego. Just clear structure, honest feedback, and support that actually helps you show up week after week. If you want coaching that respects your body, challenges you appropriately, and helps you build real momentum—Mohawk is the move.See more

Deedee S. says, "I am so fortunate to have found Anne. I was 53 and active but my knees had begun to hurt so badly that I struggled to get in and out of bed, seats, and cars. They ached at night and kept me from sleeping. After 2 sets of cortizone shots and weeks of prescribed physical therapy I interviewed trainers to help me with therapy and strengthening. I chose Anne because she listened. She was interested in helping me take care of my body. She works with women my age. Within weeks, I was able to balance, stretch, and lift noticably more! Within more weeks, I no longer even NOTICED my knees. I've now zoomed with Anne twice a week/:30 min sessions for an entire year. I feel stronger, and I am stronger (Anne even notices that my arms are cut;). I look forward to my sessions with Anne. We start each session by tuning in to my body and my needs. I am grateful for Anne, and I highly recommend her guidance and training."See more

FAQs

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much is a boot camp?

The cost of fitness boot camps depends on how often you go, the package you are purchasing (or if you are paying a drop-in fee), the location of the bootcamp, the equipment the instructors provide, and the background and reputation of the instructor. Smaller towns and areas with a lower cost of living typically have lower rates for boot camp services than big cities and regions with a higher cost of living. If you’re paying per class on a drop-in basis, expect to pay anywhere from $12 to $25 or more, depending on the region and the instructor. When you purchase a package of classes, typically the more you buy at one time, the cheaper each class is. The same boot camp class might be $20 for a drop-in student, $15 for a student who pays for 10 classes per month, and $10 for a student who pays for 30 classes a month. Studio space can also affect costs, so if your boot camp takes place in a high-end gym with top-of-the-line equipment, the prices will likely be higher than a class that meets in an outdoor space with limited or no equipment. Shop around to find the right type of boot camp class and the right instructor for you.

What is a boot camp class?

Fitness boot camps are a heart-pounding way to boost your fitness level. Boot camps are led by a fitness instructor and are based on the concept of military boot camps — intensive workout programs to get new recruits into shape, quickly. Fitness boot camps encourage camaraderie, and the group momentum helps participants get through fast-paced intervals of cardio, isometric training, strength training and endurance drills. Classes may range anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes, and usually meet multiple days per week. Boot camps often run a specific duration of time, say four to six weeks, which creates a team-like environment for class members. Other boot camps run year-round and students purchase package pricing for classes, similar to subscriptions that allow them a set amount of classes per week or per month.

Boot camps can be held indoors at a gym, outdoors in a park or on a beach, in a backyard — anywhere there’s room for running, jumping and sweating. Some instructors also provide DVD and online boot camps. You can also find boot camps tailored to your heart’s desire, such as bikini boot camp, or boot camps for new mothers. Boot camps offer an intense workout and are usually led by energetic instructors pushing you to do your best, but unlike military boot camp drill sergeants, fitness boot camp instructors typically don’t use intimidation or punishment to spur you on. Check with your doctor before starting a boot camp if you have health concerns, and always let your instructor know ahead of time if you have injuries.
