Candice has been the absolute best personal trainer I could ask for. I am seeing results I never thought I could have and feel stronger and healthier overall. She is very organized and professional and sets clear goals for me to achieve each month. Candice is always upbeat and encouraging during my workouts. It is a joy working with her!Jul 26, 2017Verified
I have worked with Candace for several months now and have had the best experience with her! She really listens to my goals and creates workout programs to directly address them, while taking into account my skill level and injuries. I have already seen incredible results. Additionally, Candace is so personable and easy to work with, and makes the workouts a lot of fun. She is really responsive and great about working me in when I have to miss a session due to work. I am so grateful that I found Candace and am excited to continue working with her. I highly recommend her if you're looking for a personal trainer!Jan 8, 2018
Short Review: A+ Awesome, Wedding Season Has Been Great I've lost 27 pounds since I began working out with Candice, and even though my initial goal coming into this was weight loss, no bridesmaid dress size or number on a scale compares to how great I physically feel. I'm stronger and healthier and less stressed now than I've been in the majority of my adult life, and it's a direct result of Candice's kickass workouts, nutritional guidance, and unwavering enthusiasm. The awesomeness of my experience cannot be overstated. 10/10 would recommend. Long Review: All the Praise GET READY I'd like to emphasize first how knowledgeable and current Candice is on all facets of fitness styles, nutrition, and wellness. The breadth of her expertise is substantiated and well-informed and 100% a defining factor in the results I've seen. I continuously trust (and am in awe of, honestly) her insight, and I have no doubt the rest of her clients would agree. Her personal training sessions are challenging and goal-oriented and Candice is constantly adjusting for best results. I've never done the same workout twice, and I look forward to sessions because I know it's going to be different every time. (Bonus: great music.) She’s extremely attentive to what is or isn’t working for you and keeps organized, in-depth notes on everything from changes in weights/counts/sets, to daily calorie/nutrition intake, to muscle/fat mass records. Being able to look back and see exactly where I was and what I was doing at any point throughout the process and compare it to where I am now is as motivating as it is satisfying. With all that said, though—the standout component that makes training with Candice so incomparable to others is the time, effort, and resources she wants to invest in you. You can see it in every tailored workout she puts together for you, every fitness/nutrition goal breakdown she writes up for you, and every time she goes above and beyond to provide extra insight on any wellness question, concern, or interest you might have—even when they’re not directly diet or exercise-related. I absently mentioned in a workout once how my sleeping schedule was terrible and probably stress-related, and that same day I received an email from her with lists of sleep/meditation apps, links to articles on sleeping patterns and the benefits of bedtime routines, and plenty of suggestions from personal experience to try out. She's done the same with recipes, protein sources, reverse dieting, skin care, and workouts outside of our sessions (I asked about half-marathon training once and she was happy to look into it for me, even when we both knew I hated running and probably wasn’t going to do it). And all *in addition* to the resources she already gives as part of her program. I came for the weight loss, but I stayed because Candice puts in the effort. She pays attention. She genuinely cares about your overall health and success, and she genuinely wants you to feel good about yourself. I couldn't recommend her more.Jul 31, 2018
I've been working with Candice since January. This is my first experience with a personal trainer and it's been excellent. When we started I had back issues and she thoroughly research my problem and to determine the best program to strengthen my back and to be sure we didn't do anything to harm it. I also wanted to improve my golf game and she researched and incorporated exercises into our program for that as well. My back feels so much better and I played two rounds of pretty good golf this weekend! She is extremely conscience, reliable and flexible and she really does her homework. She documents every session to determine progress and she is always positive, encouraging and complimentary on a job well done. She actually makes our sessions fun! I would not hesitate to recommend Candice and actually have already done so with friends.Apr 21, 2015

- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?D1 Athlete, NASM CPT, NASM Women's Fitness Specialization, NASM Weight Loss Specialization.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I was an athlete all of my life. I grew up playing a sport, or multiple sports, every season. I was the first born in my family, so my dad was excited to turn me into a tomboy! :) I was one of those lucky kids that was tall and lanky and could eat whatever I wanted...although that could have been because, well, I was young and constantly on the go. After high school I went to the Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD to play basketball. I ended up getting very sick while I was there and had to leave. After that, I decided not to play sports anymore - I wanted to be a normal kid with a normal schedule and do normal kid things, like everyone else. Well with my newfound inactivity and "normalness", for lack of a better term, I also found about 15 extra pounds! About a year an half later I tried to start back at the gym, lost a few pounds and felt good so I stopped going. Well that wasn't the smart thing to do because then I gained all the weight back and about 10 pounds more! By the time I graduated college I was 25lbs overweight and pretty miserable. At this point I felt like I was at my lowest point - I was overweight, I was in one of those crappy relationships you feel stuck in, working a job I didn't like (marketing desk job), I didn't feel pretty, I had zero confidence, and as a result I was a negative, unhappy person. Then something happened. I'm not sure what it was - I can't explain it, but something just clicked. I decided I wanted to take control back. I wanted to be a happier, healthier, prettier, more confident person. I went back to the gym and this time I made a plan. I thought back to my sports days and said to myself, "what did I do back then to keep in such good shape?" I moved. I was always active. Now, I knew I couldn't go back to eating like crap anymore - you can only do that for so long, then you grow up and realize your body can't handle that any longer. So I signed up for myfitnesspal to get my eating under control, and attacked the gym. I started by getting my butt moving!! So, I was on the treadmill, elliptical, bike, row machine - anything to get my body moving. BUT I knew that wouldn't cut it, so I also took some strength training group classes. I started to see results, but I wanted more. I took what knowledge I had from my athlete days to start weight training. I did research on the best things to do to build muscle and lose weight. I tried everything in the gym. Before I knew it, other members were coming up to me asking me for help and the gym owners asked me to run classes. I was feeling really awesome! To cut a long story short - I left my marketing job, left my crappy boyfriend at the time, and pursued my passion! By the way, during that time, I found a pretty awesome guy (who I am now married to) that was very supportive of my career change! I wouldn't have had the guts to do it without him. Now every day I wake up and I am happier than ever! I love what I do, I am constantly learning new things, and I love working with all of my clients - they are the best!
