We purchased a bad washer and dryer from the offer up app and the seller became unresponsive when we started having problems. Randy's was super flexible with their schedule and came out quickly and fixed our washer and dryer for a decent price. It's been working great for almost a month now. I would highly recommend hiring them!

He was very courteous and was prompt. He scheduled me the very next day and drove 1 hr to service my washer. Even though we decided to get a new washer due to the cost of a contol panel, his diagnosis was fast and accurate. I will call again if the need arises.

Marcus did a great job repairing not just the fridge, but our dryer, dishwasher, and an attempt at our washer which couldn't be repaired due to a large hole in the liner. We felt the pricing was very reasonable for all machines. He did have some truck issues which caused him to be delayed to the appts. (We had 2 appts for all the machines.) However, his expertise was worth the wait and who doesn't have car trouble sometimes. We will definitely call him again for maintenance on the appliances and any other repairs in the future!

Mike was prompt and did everything that he said he was going to do. He was also a great person. A part needed to be ordered to repair our Whirlpool dryer, so from the time we called him to the time it was repaired was only two days. If I had waited for Whirlpool to send someone out, not only would I have paid just as much or maybe even more. I would have waited another 12 days before they even sent someone out to look at it. Thank you to Mike. I will definitely use their services again.

Came out the same day and I had a tight space that I needed a washer and dryer installed. He got back to me and was at the house only a few hours later. Took about an hour and everything is working great!

He was able to come out the same day; within 90 minutes, in fact. He showed up as promised, fixed my dryer and even helped me with some advice about my refrigerator water filter that took care of another problem. I will call Charlotte Appliance Restore when I have future appliance issues. Recommend for sure!

Repair of washer - outstanding communication, arrived on time, did repair and realized the problem was more than just the one thing - making the washer beyond repair. Charged us very fairly, and will definitely use again.

My husband and I own an LG top loading washer. The washer wasn’t draining properly. We thought it might be the drain pump but Yuriy found the main problem (my husbands collar stay which was lodged in the washer) and fixed it on the same day. Reasonable price and one year warranty. Needless to say, we will be using him again! Thank you, Yuriy!

Roy was very professional and knowledgeable about the appliances that needed looked at. We would have been spending more money on the parts to fix our dryer and microwave then just buying replacements and he didn’t try to talk us in to fixing them just to make money. I would recommend him for any issues with appliances, heating or air conditioner.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does refrigerator repair cost?

Refrigerator repair generally costs a fraction of the price of a new fridge and shouldhave your appliance up and running again in no time. The problems your refrigerator is experiencing and the parts required to fix it will affect your repair costs. Where you live can affect labor rates, which will raise or lower your costs. Here are some examples of average costs:

  • Diagnostic fees: $50-$100. Repair pros often have a service call fee or diagnostic fee to account for their time traveling to your location with all their tools to assess the problem. If you choose to have them repair the fridge, most pros then credit this fee toward your repair cost.
  • Parts: $20-$500. A new compressor averages $200, an icemaker $300, and computerized components such as touch screens and control boards average $300 or more.
  • Basic repairs: $180-$400, including parts. This price range can include repairing the evaporator or fan motor.

How long do fridges last?

Refrigerators can last 10 to 20 years, although the most common lifespan is about 13 years. If your fridge is acting up, consider its current age when deciding whether to invest in repairs or buy a new one. Common easy fixes include faulty thermostats, dirty coils and clogged drain lines. Thermostats and dirty coils can be generally be fixed for an average cost of $80-$100. Clogged drain lines, which usually cause leaks, can often be fixed for under $200.

More complex refrigeration repairs such as replacing a bad compressor or replenishing low refrigerant can cost more because of expensive parts and higher labor. A new compressor costs an average of $200, not including labor. If labor is an average of $75-$100 per hour, and the repair takes 3 hours, you’re looking at roughly $500. Consider the age and purchase cost of your fridge; investing $350 in a $600 fridge that is 8 years old may not be cost-effective.
