I had the pleasure of working with Ms. Bowens for three years during her tenure as an officer for North Carolina Central University's Student Government Association. I have witnessed Ms. Bowens unravel into astounding leader and incredible event planner as she climbed her way from the Elections and Transition Committee into her promotion to the Director of Elections and Transitions. While serving in both positions, Ms. Bowens was primarily responsible for a myriad of the university's most anticipated events such as: The Mr. and Miss NCCU Pageant, The Presidential Debate, Candidate's Meet and Greet and many others. I was most impressed with Ms. Bowens' ability to work under pressure. Even with a full load of college courses and full time employment she managed to execute all her task and events with perfection. Serving in such a capacity during one of the most intense periods within the academic school year, Elections, Ms. Bowens' level of professionalism along with her genuine disposition and bubbly personality made it all the more possible not only to work with her but to also trust her ability to produce the campus leading events. Ms. Bowens delivered these events in such a fashion that it would immediately spark social media's attention as a trending topic. Ms. Bowens has the skills to "turn lemons into lemonade". In my opinion, this showcases her ability to transform the most tragic road bumps into stepping stones in order to magnify the production of her events. This also allowed the opportunity for the development of her personal and professional life. It is evident that Ms. Bowens dedication to her work has opened several avenues for this career such as, gaining an internship with the Division of Student Affairs as the Assistant Administrative to the Budget and Fiscal Officer. Through this internship Ms. Bowens utilized her talent for event planning on a larger scale. As Assistant Administrator, Ms. Bowens explored the budgeting aspect which is by far one of the most important elements for event planning. Honesty, I do not see any visible improvement needs for Ms. Bowens. It is my hopes that Ms. Bowens continues to work diligently towards branding her talents. She is always willing to assist others with her advice and work in this area. She has heart to continue to perfect her form of art and go high measures to see this surpass. Ms. Bowens understands the true need for education which is why she is constantly in search of programs and courses that will enhance her work as an event planner.

Brittany is very talented, driven, and professional. She is creative always takes initiative, and has excellent leadership skills. Anyone who has her plan an event should expect nothing short of extraordinary as she always delivers with style and elegance. Brittany is very business minded, yet fun at the same time. She is one who can build relationships with her clients that will want to continue to work with her. I have had the pleasure of working by Brittany's side and I have learned a lot of what goes into planning events. I know for a fact that Brittany will have a bright future in event planning because it is something she is truly passionate about and I would love to work with her again.

Working with Ms. Bowens during the 2013 Mr. And Miss North Carolina Central University pageant proved to be a rewarding and smooth experience. Ms. Bowens's attention to detail and foresight allowed for seamless transitions between scenes and helped me to remain constantly prepared as I served as the emcee of the event. I look forward to working with her again!

I've had an experience with working with Ms. Bowens planning a number of pageants as well as other events. She is a phenomenal team worker as well as one who is willing to do what it takes to get the job done! She lays out a plan and executes is flawlessly, making sure that the consumer is comfortable and relaxed at all times not having to worry about whether something will get done or not. She makes sure to remain very professional while still getting comfortable with the people she is working with so the work environmental is comfortable and a joy. She has a very creative mind and will truly wow you when you least expect it!

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started in high school, With planning homecoming parades, fashion shows, and proms. It was so fun and it always kept me on my toes. It was beautiful to see something you worked so hard on come to life and see that others enjoyed it .
What types of customers have you worked with?
Anything from decorating, budgeting, structure of event, documents for events, finding things (Props, decorations etc) within the budget given. etc. The list can go on.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I planned the Miss North Carolina Central University Pageant Showcase. The theme was a retro, High school, diner type theme and I hired a choreographer, decorated it with props from theme works in Raleigh NC, and set up the venue and practices for it for 1 month.
