He was willing to make a house call to help groom my cat who was dealing with matted coat. He saved me having to drive my cat to a groomer where my cat would, have arrived stressed. Some groomers who I spoke to said of my cat is stressed they probably would not be able to groom her. The other alternative was to,take her to groomer at the vet and they would drug her to groom her. I was lucky to find this groomer. He was wonderful with my cat who was a bit of a handful but he eventually got her to a place where she was calm enough to comb out the mats. I highly recommend him.

We have been clients of Andromeda Pet Services for about a year and we can highly recommend their pet sitting service. James is extremely conscientious and he has taken great care of our cat Izzy. We don't like boarding Izzy since he gets extremely anxious in unfamiliar places as do most Maine Coon cats. We trust James without reservation to take care of Izzy. He also brings in the mail and newspaper and makes certain all is well in the house, which is very comforting when we are away. If anything is even slightly out of the ordinary, he makes certain to contact us by text message to let us know what's going on. We have used their services about four time over the last year and couldn't be happier. And we don't have to inconvenience neighbors or family to take care of Izzy.

Our family bought a yorkie puppy from impeccable paws and she has been with us for 2 years. They offer free training with their puppies and even with other dogs that you don't buy from them. About a year after we bought sunshine we rescued a shitzu mix and he was full of issues, when I called the owner he asked me to bring the new dog in and he took a look at it and came up with an awesome training plan and it worked great! When I asked how much I owed the owner said he does it for any one who asks and that there was no charge. I will say that they are really busy and sometimes it is hard to get a hold of dan but he has never let us down! Last week we bought our second yorkie and we could not be happier. Everyone there is really awesome and offers a ton of info with food and grooming issues but ask for the owner, he even gives out his personal cell number. I just don't know of any business out there that gives you the personal service that I get every time I walk in! we live in a really small town and before we went to this place we had tried about 8 different groomers and nobody even came close to these people, now I just need to find a hairdresser for my self that's as good as my groomer! LOL you guys have our business because you have earned it and you love what you do and it shows. Thanks for taking care of our babies and thanks for the newest addition. WE LOVE YOU! The Schnople Family!

The Grooming Lady was fantastic! She graciously accommodated two elderly dogs by traveling to their home for grooming thus elevating as much stress for them and this owner. She was very professional, thorough and efficient and they looked and smelled wonderful - can't ask for more than that! Highly recommend her!

I had my 2 pups groomed for the first time. Lauren was great with both. She took her time getting to know Jack and Stella. Both dogs are relaxed and clean and shiny. They loved Miss Lauren and so did I. Looking forward to seeing her again

We are a family-owned pet supply and grooming independent retailer, and we carry a wide variety of cat and dog food mostly grain free, holistic and organic in Lake Wylie, SC. It has been recognized that dog parents have been giving their dogs better quality of food over the years, not so much for cats. Here at Bright Eyes & Bushy Tails, we believe cats should have the same opportunity to have healthier food choices available to them as well. So, we have tailored the brands to give cat owners a large variety of choices of grain-free, holistic and organic cat food available to them. Our store offers 50/50 for both cats and dogs. We carry over 33 brands of cat-canned food from pates to human-grade food for cats. We carry a large selection of toys, accessories and health products as well. We do carry a small selection for small animals and feathery members of the family. There are frequent buyer programs available for most of the brands we carry. Our motto is "If you don't find what you are looking for, just ask Joanne who will do her very best to bring it in as a special request." Our professional groomers have over 15 years of experience. We treat your fur baby family members as our family members with love, caring and gentleness throughout the grooming process. Come and meet our professional and experienced groomers. Call and ask for Margaret to set up your next appointment. Every Wednesday, we give military discounts for grooming and/or retail purchases. Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Do cats have to get groomed?

It’s not crazy to have your cat groomed. Grooming will keep your cat’s fur soft and silky as well as give you early warning about any health concerns. Regular grooming can also help reduce the volume of hair your cat may be shedding and keep your longhair kitty cool if you live in a warm climate. Professionals competently groom your cat and are trained to manage them if they resist being groomed, while you may get scratched doing the same task. The national average price for cat grooming is $50-$70. Pet grooming prices may vary based on the task. For example, a bath and brush for shorthair cats may be $15, $20 for medium-hair cats, and $25 for a longhair. Cat groomers can also keep your cat’s ears cleaned, trim their nails, and provide haircuts if needed. Average prices for haircuts can vary from $30 to $95 or more, depending on whether the cat is shy or aggressive and whether their coat is in good condition, matted, or otherwise difficult to groom.

Where can you get your cat groomed?

Cat grooming keeps your cat’s fur tangle-free and clean. Most businesses that offer dog grooming or general pet grooming also offer cat grooming; some businesses even specialize solely in cat grooming. Look for a professional who has training grooming cats or belongs to a professional association such as the National Cat Groomers Institute, because cat grooming techniques can be different than for dogs. Cat grooming can encompass a wide range of services. In addition to haircutting, hair detangling and hairstyling, cat groomers can trim cat nails, clean out your cat’s ears, give flea baths, demat, trim facial fur, bathe and even blow-dry your cat. Health safety and etiquette requires your cat to be in good health and have all their vaccinations before using grooming services.

How much should cat grooming cost?

Keeping your cat groomed is an important part of maintaining their good health. The national average cost for cat grooming ranges between $50 and $70, with prices varying based on where you live and the services you request. Your cat’s temperament can also affect grooming prices. Scratching and hissing during a groomer visit can raise rates an average of $5-$10, or more, as hazard pay. Larger cats and long-haired cats that take longer to groom will also usually cost more. Here are some examples of cat grooming average costs:

    • Shave down or lion cut: $35-$60. These cuts preserve the hair around the face and tip of the tail but shave down the entire body. The lion cut is often recommended for extremely matted hair is exceedingly matted, for extreme heat, or for cats who are suffering from hairballs.
    • Ear cleaning and nail trim: $30.
    • Nail trim: $10-$15.
    • Bath and nail trim: $45.
    • Bath and sanitary trim: $55. A sanitary trim clips the hair on a cat’s behind to prevent fecal matting in longhair cats or cats that have mobility issues.
    • Bath, blow-dry, brush out, nail trim and ear cleaning: $40.
    • Full haircut, bath, and nail trim: $45-$95, depending on matting.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
