- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
At this point, the only continuing education that I have in my field are my personal quests for knowledge and experiences. I use several industry mags as my resources- MIX magazine, ELECTRONIC MUSICIAN, The INDIE BIBLE and lets not forget the most valuable resource around- YOUTUBE! Personal experience has been my best teacher, and I have never had any FORMAL training in my line of work. Though I am not knocking a formal education at all, you have have to be able to apply that formal education in REAL LIFE.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I knew early in life that being a musician was going to be my life's work.I started making revenue at it at the age of 14! That lead to being a sideman as a drummer with many acts, some regional and some national and international. Along the way, i was nurtured by some INCREDIBLE musicians and I wound up becoming a multi-instrumentalist. Rob Ulsh of Mastersound in Va Beach, Va, ( which is now owned by the production team The Neptunes) gave me my first experience on a large format recording console, the AMEK CINEMA, and I was hooked from then on!
