WELCOME TO YOUR DOG’S 5 STAR BOARD & TRAIN DESTINATION! My name is Austin Franklin and I am the founder/owner of Absolutely Pawsitively Obedient. In 2017 I pursued my dream of turning my passion and hobby of training dogs into my living and full-time “job”. I don’t call it my job because when you enjoy what you do, you don’t work a day in your life! I have proudly and gratefully trained each family and dog myself since I started Absolutely Pawsitively Obedient. I have also always been a veteran family-owned and operated business. When I started Absolutely Pawsitively Obedient I had one year of active duty left in the Marine Corps. Each evening after work I had private lessons with families, and on the weekends from sun up to sun down I trained with more families. I even took leave and traveled across the country to help families who hired me in Seattle, Portland, Minneapolis, the Washington, D.C. area, and all over North Carolina.
At the end of 2017, my wife Ashley and I bought our current home in Jacksonville, North Carolina. We finished our new climate controlled facility on our property, installed security cameras and sensors, ordered state of the art impact kennels, and I began to board and train dogs out of our home and facility. I started boarding and training dogs in 2018, 365 days per year. I have been blessed with the opportunity to learn from hundreds and hundreds of dogs of all different ages, breeds, temperaments, and sizes. Each dog had different things they struggled with such as barking at other dogs/people, separation anxiety, jumping on people, leash manners, and guests manners, to name a few.

After completing the 10 day board and train, our 9 month old Blue Heeler is a dream compared to before. Our biggest issues were leash pulling and manners, now are both nearly nonexistent, and with correction, exactly where they need to be. We were able to take our dog to a travel ball tournament where before he was so distracted, he was hard to manage. Now, we can take him, overnight (hotel manners) and enjoy both the games and having him with us. The time Austin (and his family) put into the training of each individual dog is more than evident. His communication and responsiveness is excellent. I do not hesitate to contact him with questions, although with the training we dont have the problems we did before. Will continue recommending Austin for years to come!

This is amazing. Prior to his training, our dog was very stubborn, probably the most stubborn dog Ive ever had. With our lack of time to invest in training our dog ourselves, we turned to Austin. He was recommended to us by one of our friends whose dog he also trained, and I cant imagine having gone to anyone else. Austin is very attentive to the dogs, you can see that he clearly loves his job, and he does a great job of getting you comfortable with using your dogs new features. Also, he did a wonderful job of providing updates/ pictures which is awesome because who wouldnt want to see their baby. No one wants to leave their dog for 10 days, but Austin understands and will help you feel better about it. Getting our dog trained by him was worth every penny, and if I get another dog their going straight to Austin.

Austin is a miracle worker. I have a 7 month old Bernedoodle. He is super sweet, but he was also super stubborn. Typical puppy stuff, but when your dog weighs 60 pounds you really need him to listen! I signed him up with Austin for the board and train. Hes been home about a month now and the difference is life changing. My 10 year old daughter can take him on walks and he doesnt pull EVER. He is also just much calmer overall. He now follows basic commands without thinking twice. Hes such a love bug and thanks to Austin, hes also so well behaved!!

I could tell from my very first interaction with Austin that he was the right guy to train my dog Atlas. Cool, calm, and exceptional at what he does, I got exactly what I wanted and more. With his warm demeanor and gentle (yet firm) approach to dog training, Austin quite literally transformed my smart, defiant dog. Walking Atlas used to be a chore because of his pulling. He constantly ignored commands to sit, go to his bed, or stay away from people or things he wasn't supposed to be around. Austin made it very simple and enjoyable to learn how to be a good dog owner, training my dog Atlas in the process. Here are some pictures from my most recent walk with him- they honestly speak for themselves. In literally 5 weeks, Atlas has progressed to heeling, walking, sitting and coming when called- all without a leash. It's awesome. I cannot recommend Austin enough!

Austin is amazing! I had a bad experience with a previous dog trainer so I reached out to him and he got back to me so quickly. He really took the time to get to know our dog and was able to meet with us routinely. He never made us feel dumb for asking questions and was patient with all of us. Our dog has completely changed for the better and weve even gotten our other dog to improve by using what he taught us. I finally feel comfortable enough to take out dog out to public places and am confident that I can handle him on my own without assistance. Thank you, Austin!
