Did a good job despite some very heavy antique furniture and tricky maneuvering to get them out of the old place!

Ben and Jacob arrived on time. They were both cordial and efficient, working quickly to move furniture from one part of the house to another another and to remove junk from several different locations. These guys had a "can-do" attitude, were positive, and ended up doing more than we expected. The cost was less than the estimate which rarely happens. I was genuinely pleased with the entire process and plan to use this service again.

We had a hole in our ceiling from a 2nd floor leak. Dennis gave me an estimate after I sent him photos of the damage. He was able to start right away and finished repairing the ceiling within 4 days. He had to come back every day to sand and mud the ceiling. He put plastic around the kitchen to contain the drywall dust and made sure all the vents were closed so they didn't get clogged. Once the ceiling was done he re-installed our light and even helped me move the furniture back into the kitchen! He even went so far as so smooth out other areas of the ceiling that needed it and helped pop some nail holes back into the ceiling in our 1/2 bath. He was always friendly and courteous and arrived when he said he would. We'd certainly hire him again for home repair work.

They did a very efficient job of packing all of my belongings into a limited amount of space. Worked hard to get the job done in a timely manner.

Grace did everything I wanted done and the way I wanted them done. As work progressed, I learned that they could help me in ways I didn't even know about and I used their abilities for those things, as well. (These included quite a bit of hauling of furniture and other possessions from Goldsboro to Wilmington.) Grace Restoration's prices were very reasonable. I would hire them again for almost any job. On top of it all, they are nice folks!

How much should you tip furniture movers?

Moving furniture is hard work and potentially dangerous unless you’re properly equipped. For anyone not ready to handle their heavy oak armoire alone, professional furniture movers can safely and efficiently move your items to another room in your house or across town as needed. The national average cost to hire heavy furniture movers is $150-$200 per hour. This rate could include multiple furniture movers working as a team to move items such as beds, armoires, billiards tables, pianos, shelves, tables, entertainment centers and more. Hourly rates can vary by region. If your furniture movers have arrived on time, done a great job, kept your home and belongings protected from scratches and dings, and completed the move as planned, a tip will be greatly appreciated. Moving companies suggest approximately 10 percent of the total bill as gratuity for those doing local moving jobs, which is also a good guideline for tipping heavy furniture movers. If the total bill for heavy moving was $100 and two workers were onsite, consider giving them $10 total, or $5 each for a job well done.
