“A great time was had by all” – at a "hands-on" cooking class that Chef Tyler did for 16 future homeowners at Trilogy Lake Norman. We asked him to design a cooking lesson, advertised it to our future home owners, gave him access to one of the kitchens in our Model Gallery, and he just did his thing. WOW! The follow-up questionnaires rated the event 9.4 for “fun”, 9.5 for “Chef’s knowledge”. How do you follow that? Simple - We are scheduling additional “Cooking Classes with Chef Tyler!”

Mr. Farlow's business started about the time I was injured in a serious accident. It was a blessing for me to be able to order meals that were delivered to my house at least once a week. It helped me to know that a nice meal was waiting at the end of my husband's busy day! The food is sooo good, that once I recovered, I continued to order meals every now and then. Recently, a co-worker's daughter was found to have cancer and they were very busy with doctor appointments and therapy, so, we asked Mr. Farlow if he would deliver a meal to her home. What a surprise she had, and she talked about how good everything was for weeks! What an amazing talent, and what an amazing gift to give others; especially when cooking for yourself is not an option! Thank you, Jim!!!

Jessica Luntz is a professional who is organized, experienced, communicative and did I mention she can cook! I totally enjoyed the experience with Jessica and Saucy Spoon Cooking from the beginning stages of selecting a menu to the end where after the meal she left the kitchen immaculate. I would encourage anyone considering a chef led cooking class/demonstration or dinner party to contact Jessica immediately!

Chef Devonte did a tremendous job. It was such a fun and memorable night. The food was amazing, and he was such a pleasure to be around (he gave us cooking tips, answered all of our questions -- and there plenty-- and was just a true pro). I recommend him highly ... in fact, we already hired him for another birthday dinner.

Michelle came over, she helped my 13yr old cook 2 dishes and 2 desserts. She gave her valuable feedback on certain things while they were cooking. My daughter was VERY excited after she got done. Talking about it the rest of the evening!! I was pleased with my daughters response to cooking, and thank you to Michelle for helping to find something that she seems even more interested in after the class!!! My daughter LOVED it and that is what mattered to me!!!!

My coworkers and I had a GREAT time during our cooking class with The Cook Nook. Catherine was very professional and knowledgeable , she was very helpful, and made the class fun. We learned how to correctly hold a knife, chop vegetables, and my favorite part, make homemade egg rolls! I’d recommend Catherine and The Cook Nook 1,000%!!

Carol is extremely professional and a great personal chef. She also has experience preparing anti-cancer meals. Her fees are extremely reasonable and she is very honest. She has access to our condo and usually cooks when we are not there. In addition she does the shopping for the food we need once we have selected the menu. She comes every two weeks and cooks enough food for two for the 14 days leaving enough in the refrigerator for our immdeiate needs and freezing the remainder. We travel a great deal but it is wonderful to come home and have two couples over for dinner without having to do anything other than set the table and warm the dishes.

My feedback on Chef Bou is nothing but positive things.Bou has helped me out several times with menu ideas and has introduced me and given me recipes for new and exciting dishes. His knowledge is out of this world. He knows more about different foods and cooking ideas than you could imagine. He has given many new opportunities in cooking on his own time and has shared new techniques in cooking. I'm just starting out in the cooking business and has directed in me in the right direction. He has much to offer to many in my eyes. Just the little he has done for me I couldn't get unless I was in culinary school.

I had Angela do a soup for a meeting that I hosted. It was during the winter and we all needed some good hearty fare to tackle a difficult assignment. Her ability to deliver the meal for 25 people was wonderful. The soup was hearty with multiple vegetables and significant meat to satisfy all of the participants. I give her four thumbs up. Kevin helped me with a private party at my house for about 30 people. We wanted a diverse selection of heavy and light appetizers served throughout the evening. Not only was Kevin prompt, professional, and positive in his demeanor, his cooking was exceptional. Our guests made repeated compliments to the chef for the quality and variety of appetizers served. Kevin worked nonstop throughout the evening to make the party a memorable & successful event.

Food from Aunt Amy Made It is home-cooking at its best. Amy's service is prompt, professional, and competent. She can provide everything you may need or want from single specialty items, to meals, or even events (baby showers, parties, celebrations.) Everything she has prepared for me has been delicious and delighted my guests. I highly recommend her and her catering services. She can do it all, including cleaning setting up for me. Give Aunt Amy Made It a try. You won't be sorry.

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do private cooking lessons cost?

You can take private cooking classes to have fun, to learn a new skill, to improve your health, to bond with your partner, to enjoy a playful first date or to have a unique birthday party experience. Nationally the average cost of private cooking lessons ranges between $100 and $150. Prices can vary, depending on where you live, the type of cooking class you’re taking, the ingredients the chef provides, and the reputation of the chef. Cooking classes with Anthony Bourdain will clearly cost more than classes with a local restaurant owner. The number of people in the class will also affect the cost, with group lessons often priced per person to account for the cost of ingredients. For example, for group lessons, a brunch workshop may cost an average of $70 per person, a steak dinner with sides could cost an average of $80-$85 per person, and a sushi lesson could cost an average of $100 per person. Ingredients play a major role in cost, as the chef will pre-purchase the food you will be working with. Weekday classes will usually cost less than weekend classes.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
