FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Transparent Labor: Work is billed either at a straightforward rate of $65 hour for general repairs or flat-rate package pricing for standardized tasks like TV mounting and furniture assembly. ⚬ Zero Material Markup: You never pay inflated prices on parts or supplies. You only pay the exact store receipt cost, or you are welcome to purchase and supply the materials yourself. Sourcing/procurement trips are simply billed as regular time. ⚬ Credited Estimates: For complex jobs requiring an on-site evaluation to inspect underlying framing or take precision measurements, a $50 assessment fee applies to cover vehicle travel and time, which is credited 100% directly toward your invoice when you hire me for the work. ⚬ Bundle Discounts: Grouping multiple punch-list items into a single visit saves travel overhead, allowing discounted package rates on multi-room projects or combined assemblies and mountings.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Scope & Photo Review: We begin with a quick review of photos, item links, or project details to identify key requirements (such as wall types, framing condition, or assembly specs). ⚬ Clear Estimate: You receive an upfront, transparent estimate detailing labor, estimated materials, and job-day expectations with no hidden surprises. ⚬ Scheduling: We agree on a firm date and time window that fits your schedule. ⚬ Execution & Protection: I arrive fully equipped with commercial-grade tools and hardware, complete the work to manufacturer/structural standards, and keep the workspace clean. ⚬ Final Walkthrough: We review the completed work together to verify that you are 100% satisfied before closing out the project.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Executive & Technical Background: Former technology executive and operations background, bringing an engineering mindset, precision measurement, and rigorous project management to every home repair. ⚬ Trade Craftsmanship: Hands-on experience across carpentry, structural rot repair, assembly, gate framing, and electrical/fixture replacements. ⚬ Licensed & Insured Standards: Fully backed by commercial general liability and commercial auto insurance for field service operations.
