Join us for this fun class where you learn to play guitar by playing songs you want to know! Bring your guitar and your requests and let's get playing! We offer weekly evening classes for adults at Sanderson High School. We charge $65 for your first four weeks, $40 each for additional four weeks.

I have been one of Suzanne's guitar students for several years in an evening group lesson situation at a local high school. I like Suzanne's enthusiasm and creativity in a lesson environment. I also admire how quickly she can deconstruct a song and make it playable for the class. Suzanne does an excellent job of balancing learning new songs and teaching the theory behind them without slowing down the fun. Her students seem to quickly pick up the guitar and enjoy playing it almost from day one.
I especially like that there is "no fault" if an adult student has trouble finding time to practice between lessons. Of course, without practice, it is hard to improve quickly.
Sometimes we work on a song that isn't one I'd choose. But this exposes me to other music genres and provides new learning elements. Suzanne asks us for input of which songs we'd like to learn, so the occassional "dud" song isn't really a problem.
As the skills of the class continue to improve, it might be interesting to have class members bring a song to discuss/improve with input from their peers and Suzanne - think of a writer's workshop.
For a fun guitar lesson experience, I highly recommend Suzanne.

Suzanne has been teaching our 10 year old son the electric guitar for two years. She creates a pleasant, non-stressful, learning environment and tries to do a nice blend of music. Of course the basics have to be taught, but whenever appropriate Suzanne works in songs that are familiar to the kids. She also teaches a group guitar course afterschool at our son's school. You will not be disappointed!

Suzanne is a wonderfully kind and thoughtful teacher who understands children. Her students are allowed to choose the music they'd like to learn - pop songs, rock songs - whatever will motivate them to learn and encourage them to practice. She's a gem and we're lucky to have found her!

Learning Guitar is an on going project for me but after a year I can clearly see progress in my playing ability. Suzanne's teaching ability easily spans from the beginner to the more advanced players. Her wide range of music types and picking styles allows the student to experience different methods of playing guitar.
