Introduction: Nine years of teaching experience providing high quality education with meaningful activities to help students master a foreign language. I firmly believe that every student is entitled to an enriching education, respect and professionalism. My goal is to motivate students in ascertaining their inner strengths, abilities, and the activities that truly inspire them. I aim to provide a stimulating learning environment that fosters confidence and encourages students to reach their full potential. I take responsibilities as an educator very seriously, and I work hard to help students learn Spanish.
I definitively love teaching languages and sharing cultural information about Spanish speaking countries. I also enjoy meeting new people and see progress in their learning process.

Ms. Cortes was my Spanish teacher for a year at Perquimans County High School. She taught Spanish 1 and 2 to high school students. Ms. Cortes was a very dedicated teacher to her students. She did a lot of interactive activities and made sure that all students were engaged and learning. She went above and beyond to make sure that all students were learning and making good grades in her class. She stayed after school everyday if students needed additional help, extra credit or missing assignments. She had a positive relationship with each student, and was always offering help if needed. Ms. Cortes has encouraged me to improve my skills and knowledge of Spanish. I am now pursuing additional opportunities such as; taking Spanish 3 and 4 and applying for Governor's school in the area of Spanish. Ms. Cortes helped me learn the basic fundamentals of Spanish and I would highly recommend her for any job.

My kids, aged 11 and 13, had never taken Spanish before. We thought the idea of a personal tutor would suit us best, and we consider ourselves very, very lucky to have found Claudia. We worked with Claudia for 7 lessons over the summer, meeting her on campus for an hour twice per week. Her lessons were innovative, inspired, and fun. I could hear my kids laughing with her when I arrived to pick them up. In addition to the enjoyable contact time, Claudia went the extra mile to prepare homework and additional work for them to practice online between classes. These were top-notch slideshows and included many different activities.
Claudia was wonderful to work with in every way and I would not hesitate to recommend her as a tutor or private teacher. She is warm, welcoming, professional, and fun!

I was given the opportunity to have Mrs. Cortes as a Spanish I and II teacher. I loved her class and learning the language. She provided multiple activities to ensure we learned the language to the best of our ability. Students of all learning types were able to pick up the language with the diverse activities used. She was always there for questions or extra practice after class. She often helps me if I have questions now, even though she is no longer my teacher. If you are interested in learning the language I would highly recommend you take Mrs. Cortes's class. She is fully invested in helping her students get the most out of spanish.

Claudia has been teaching our eight year old son Spanish for about three months now. Our son loves the classes and has made great progress with his Spanish. Claudia is always well prepared and uses fun, interactive teaching methods. I highly recommend her as a Spanish teacher.
