As the owner-I have always kept my business large enough to compete with the big chains-but small enough to manage and give it the personal touch.I screen and train each of my employees and consider them friends as well as VERY hard workers.When we come to move your stuff you can set your mind at ease to know we will move it with care. We do little small jobs like moving a dresser across town all the way up to moving a mansion to California.Your word of mouth is more important to us than your money! The challenge each job presents to not only move everything with no kind of damages but to also earn the respect of the customer.

Fantastic service. Great communication through Thumbtack and via phone to set up all the details. On moving day the crew was prompt and prepared, and assisted me greatly with things I didn't even realize I needed done. What had seemed incredibly stressful and overwhelming was made a lot smoother and easier to deal with by the Movers Not Shakers crew. They were professional, courteous, communicated well about what they were doing/what plans they had for dealing with certain pieces of furniture, and helped out in other ways I hadn't anticipated I'd need help. They constantly told me they would do whatever I needed them to do, and I feel they really went above and beyond.

These guys were excellent. They not only offer the best price around, but were fantastic to work with as well. They were very good about communicating with us throughout the move; were very flexible in working with our schedule; and worked very efficiently and carefully. Not a single item was damaged in the process of our move from North Carolina to New York. Even a large houseplant of ours survived the move without much wear. These guys made a daunting move a much more pleasant experience, and we really enjoyed working with them. I would definitely recommend this company to others. They're the best.

Everything went perfectly, Tom made the experience really simple, was VERY reasonably priced, answered e-mails promptly. It made our son's move from Cary to Chicago simple, no nasty surprises at the end about extra costs that often happens with the large moving companies! He arrived on time for the pick up as well as the move-in, which was important because the condo has a strict schedule for elevator use. THANK YOU TOM, we will definitely use this company again, and I highly recommend it!

Tom was the first respondent to my Thumbtack inquiry and his pricing seemed fair. Tom's guys were prompt and did a great job in helping me move some things from one home to another in Raleigh. They had great attitudes are were a pleasure to work with.

I had to move a 1br apartment from Raleigh to DC. Tom made the entire ordeal much easier. I had to change the timing of my move after we'd already finalized it and Tom was completely flexible and was able to meet the new demands without any extra headache on my part. The load and unload was quick and efficient, nothing broken, and Tom and his team showed up on time or early on both occasions. I highly recommend Movers and Shakers to anyone making a regional move.
