I chose Andrés to work as Spanish teacher for myself and my wife in October of 2016. We were in the process of retiring and planning a move to Spain. Our challenge to Andrés was to make us more confident and fluent in Spanish in the 10 months before our move. In weekly lessons with him, he consistently met the challenge with his knowledge, professionalism and personal warmth and understanding. Andrés has become not just my teacher but also a friend with whom I hope to continue communicating long-term. Andrés always arrived for lessons on time and his level of enthusiasm and energy was consistently high. He has the ability to correct mistakes and elaborate on points of Spanish vocabulary and grammar without interrupting the continuity of the conversation. His Spanish pronunciation is clear easy to follow and emulate. His suggestions for improvement were always helpful and encouraging. As a professional, he has a strong commitment to certain principles of teaching, but he also has the ability to adapt to each learner’s level and needs. I highly recommend Andres as a teacher for any level of Spanish instruction.

Andres is a great Spanish tutor! My boyfriend and I have been taking lessons from Andres for a few months now and have been pleased with every aspect of his teaching method. Andres not only took the time to learn about us, personally, but he wanted to know WHY we were trying to learn the language. He based his lessons around our interests and gauged our learning pace appropriately.

I am very pleased with Maida! She is a wonderful person and cares a lot about people. She took me shopping, cooked and I watched so i could take notes. I saw her every week at first, now I'm every other week. I don't think I would be this sucessfull with those who chage $100.00. I bet she makes more money and has a higher sucess rate because of it. Plus she is helping others get health, live longer and feel great! I have been seeing her for over 2 months now. It is a process that takes time, but I'm still learning. I highly recomends her.

Maida is teaching me Spanish, and I am very satisfied with her methods. She has recommended a book that I use and she leads me through the lessons and adds to them with explanations of daily usage and pronunciation. It is just a little difficult to understand her English sometimes because of her accent, though.

I was always getting sick until she helped me change my diet. I didn't even workout, I just ate her meal plan and lost weight.

Ms.Jami started tutoring my children (ages 3 and 4) in Spanish a little less than a year ago. During that time my son's natural interest for reading increased but decreased when working with mommy. Ms. Jami did some preliminary testing to see if he was truly ready and soon she began tutoring him in reading also. Initially, I was concerned that he would not be able to tolerate 30 mins of Spanish then 30 mins reading. However, he is able to maintain in seat behavior with a short break between subjects and the 60 min sessions go by quickly. There is an award system in place to manage behavior and fun interactive hands on activities (singing, music, tactile and visual stimuli) which sustains their attention. As an educator it evident that tasks are age appropriate and consistently tweaked to meet the needs of my children. My children are day and night in terms of personalities and learning styles. I am alway's amazed how Ms. Jami manages both of them in the same session. A sign of a great teacher and a gentle spirit. Ms. Jami presents with weekly lesson plans, carry over activities, affordable rates and she genuinely likes children. I highly recommended her, she is one of my best finds on Craigslist to date! The children love and respect her!

Working with Jami has been such a blessing! My son (age 10) has struggled with reading for years due to some learning disabilities - Jami has helped him come out of his shell, find confidence, and believe that YES he can do this! His reading has improved drastically, so much so that he is voluntarily reading books to us and writing his own stories. Jami has a gift!

I have taken several classes with Spanish Alive and have found them extremely helpful in learning how to speak, read, and understand Spanish. They are excellent at understanding what level each person is at and are able to assist them in finding the perfect class level and working with them individually to have the best resources. I have taken many classes in Spanish over the years and have improved faster with the help of Spanish Alive. I have referred many people to this wonderful experience.

About

During a trip to Disney World as a teenager, I was mesmerized by all of the foreign languages that I heard and strove to master one. My mother purchased me a Spanish program, and off I went. Since then, I have gone on to master four other romance languages, and I love helping others to discover the joys of different languages and cultures. I also love to play guitar. I have been playing since 1991 and have found it to be a gift that never stops giving. I feel that one is never truly alone if he or she is capable of playing an instrument. My love of Spanish and guitar has led me to a very enjoyable career. I taught Spanish for 13 years at a preparatory academy, and I also have taught beginning guitar lessons for seven years at the academy. On the side, I am delighted to give private lessons for both the guitar and Spanish language. (LinkedIn site and resume will be gladly provided upon request.)

About

I care about teaching as I plan to become a professor sometime in my professional life; therefore I see every teaching opportunity as a great point to learn and practice.
