Fantastic! I can recommend Arbor Tutors without any hesitation.
Laurel is a capable and experienced tutor. She is especially skilled in teaching children for whom English is a second language, or who may be having difficulty coming from a home where English is not spoken well. She is patient and has a great variety of materials that she draws upon depending on the student's need.
Howard have been tutoring my two daughters so that they could increase there SAT/ACT scores. He slso tutors me in Pre-Cal Math and English Literature. He is an excellent tutor that knows the material he is teaching. He is always willing to go above and beyond. He makes sure we understands the material. I was surprised when after just 3 weeks working with my daughter, she was able to raise her SAT scores by 90 points. My daughter has an A in Math now all because of Howard. Myself was failing Math in College. I had a D in the class and now I have a B. My first test I got 46%, and after working with Howard within two weeks I got a 94% on my next test. I don’t know how he know these stuff. It just comes naturally to him. If you want your child or even you has an adult going back to colkege like myself; Howard his the guy you need. My daughters are not the easiest kids to teach, but everytime Howard leaves my home they have more confidence in themselves and they grades have increase. So I know he’s doing a grest job.I recommend him with a 110%.
Troy is an amazing tutor, our son age 15 is doing so much better with his support, and the stress levels have gone way down when there is an upcoming math test.
Frank has been an exceptional tutor for my daughter in 8th grade. This year has been particularly difficult for her and I've recently learned , the majority of the class due to a less than stellar teacher unfortunately and Frank is keeping her on track and ready to move to 9th grade math. For students that struggle witht he subject, he is patient and explains things in their "language" making it easier to learn. I will continue to partner with Frank for my daughter's math education into the summer and I am sure she will meet the 9th grade curriculum with the foundation and confidence required to excel. Thanks Frank!
My daughter was struggling with her writing. I was worried about her taking any kind of tests. Shelley found her strengths and weaknesses. She made a tutoring plan to improve my daughter's writing skills. She always makes learning fun with my daughter. Since then, I have seen an improvement for my daughter's writing and reading skills. She has my highest recommendation as an English tutor. Thanks
From the first time I met Dalton, I was convinced of his unusual intelligence and genuine people skills. He instantly makes you feel good about yourself and comfortable enough to learn with ease. In addition, he brings more than book knowledge to his style of tutoring. The fact that he has lived abroad and has worked one on one and with groups enhances his teaching methods such that learning is a pleasure. I would highly recommend Dalton for anyone seeking a professional, compassionate tutor for themselves or their children.
Mr. Olmes has worked with my daughter for several years-currently through Honors French IV and is simply outstanding with her. He is thou roughly professional, yet keeps the experience very pleasant for the student. He knows what she is doing in class and is always very prepared and approachable and very flexible. I can't imagine a better tutor or more of a gentleman.
Great Act tutor! I've learned so much and feel very good about thanking the ACT again.
Andy is an excellent tutor and has a great command of Spanish. He has been very dependable, on time, flexible and accommodating. He provides instructional and reference materials. He is a pleasure to work with and makes learning Spanish fun!
Ms.Jami started tutoring my children (ages 3 and 4) in Spanish a little less than a year ago. During that time my son's natural interest for reading increased but decreased when working with mommy. Ms. Jami did some preliminary testing to see if he was truly ready and soon she began tutoring him in reading also. Initially, I was concerned that he would not be able to tolerate 30 mins of Spanish then 30 mins reading. However, he is able to maintain in seat behavior with a short break between subjects and the 60 min sessions go by quickly. There is an award system in place to manage behavior and fun interactive hands on activities (singing, music, tactile and visual stimuli) which sustains their attention. As an educator it evident that tasks are age appropriate and consistently tweaked to meet the needs of my children. My children are day and night in terms of personalities and learning styles. I am alway's amazed how Ms. Jami manages both of them in the same session. A sign of a great teacher and a gentle spirit. Ms. Jami presents with weekly lesson plans, carry over activities, affordable rates and she genuinely likes children. I highly recommended her, she is one of my best finds on Craigslist to date! The children love and respect her!
We are so thankful to have Alicia as a tutor for our child. She has a great mix of skills and is a very effective and kind teacher.
We will see if we can get our time schedules together to move forward with a great reading tudor for the summer! Nice lady!
I like to help kids to sharpen their skills and master them on their own level. I started to volunteer my time in 2005 in Wakefield Elementary School. I help kids in math and reading. It is difficult to stay focus when they are struggling with their homework or classwork. I like to help them to build their confidence.

I have taught English for 7 years. I enjoy working with students of all ages and abilities. I have been told that it is my patience and enthusiasm that my students like best. I believe that being a good teacher means challenging, but more importantly encouraging your students. I want my students to know that I am there for them to help them with the goals that they want to achieve. Whether you are a beginner wanting to start with vocabulary and conversation or you are an advanced learner wanting to work on accent reduction, I am happy to help.
