Introduction: My favorite thing about officiating weddings is getting to know the couple and crafting a ceremony that expresses their personalities and their desires for their big day. Seeing the couple's joy when I've gotten it right and when everything comes together is a delight! I do religious, non-religious, and interfaith ceremonies and am happy to help you create a custom ceremony all your own. I also offer elopements and will meet you at the location of your choice to perform a private and simple ceremony. Note: If you are looking for a very basic elopement to fulfill the legal requirements of marriage but not a full ceremony, please see my website, RaleighNCWeddingOfficiant.com, for a form to contact me as the Thumbtack estimate is not accurate for that type of ceremony. Thank you! *COVID DISCOUNT*: Many couples have asked me to perform basic elopements with the plan to have a big wedding later when restrictions are lifted. If you hire me for an elopement, I will discount your later ceremony by the amount paid for the elopement should you hire me for that, as well. I.e. if you pay $60 for an elopement with me I will take $60 off the price of your full ceremony later. (Extra fees for miles are not included in this discount). Wedding Officiant

So originally Reverend Wiglama said she could perform as officiant on our set date, but her schedule got mixed up. She was able to send another officiant in her place along with the extra witness we needed. Rebecca was responsive with emails and her pricing was fair. She wrote a beautiful script and I highly recommend working with her.

Our ceremony was my favorite part of our wedding day, and this was in large part due to the effort Reverend Rebecca Wiglama put into it. We met several times before the wedding to better get to know each other and help her understand what made us unique as a couple. She also helped guide us through various styles of a ceremony until we found one that fit our personalities and felt inclusive of everyone attending (we had an intimate wedding with a variety of backgrounds). She uniquely tailored each detail to fit our goals. Ultimately, she created a heartfelt and personal ceremony that brought a tear to everyone's eye. Her words were intentional and beautiful. I am incredibly thankful that she officiated our ceremony and would highly recommend this kind, warm, and thoughtful reverend to anyone else.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    I offer a number of different pricing options. For a basic elopement, where we take care of the legal requirements of a marriage and have a simple vow exchange, I charge $60. It is my belief that cost should never be a barrier to marriage, so I like to keep this option for people who just want to be married and don't need a full ceremony. I can also provide witnesses for a small extra charge. For a standard ceremony I charge $250. For a fully custom ceremony, where I interview you and write you a ceremony completely original to you and weave your story as a couple into the ceremony I charge $400. I also charge a $0.50/mile travel fee if I have to drive a long way.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    Once you’ve decided that I’m the right fit for your ceremony I will send you a contract to e-sign. Next, depending on your type of wedding, I will ask you questions and get to know you and what your vision for your wedding is. I may send you sample ceremonies or elements of ceremonies to choose from. After I have crafted your ceremony I will send it to you for approval or editing. My goal is to make sure you are 100% satisfied and that you look back on your wedding day with delight!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I have a BA in Humanities from Brigham Young University. I also worked as an editor before I left to stay home with my children, so I have writing and editing experience. As part of my formal education I have spent a lot of time studying religion, including four months living in Jerusalem and studying the Old and New Testaments intensively. I am also an ordained minister, which allows me to perform marriages under North Carolina law.
