I have been a Bulwark customer for several years; I most recently had a Tech come by David Woolls to have my home treated on the interior and he notices a wasp's nest in the front of the home as he was leaving. He took care of removing the nest. I am thankful for his attention to detail; I have 3 young children and would not have wanted them to be outside playing and risk getting stung, I am thankful for such great friendly and excellent customer service.

Had them remove anasbestos roof from my home. I gave them specific instructions to removed all the shingles and roofing felt. They removed all the shingles. They did not remove the roofing deltas requested on numerous occasions. This put other in harms way and they refused to come back out to rectify the issue or deduct from their price. I had to pay another company to remove the felt.

After submitting a request for a quote, Chris contacted me within minutes. He came out the same day to look at my yard. He was knowledgeable and gave me a plan to clean out my side yard that was overrun with ivy and plant some plants and also to spread out some grass seed. He told me step-by-step what he would do in my yard. Before planting he called to make sure everything was exactly where I wanted it to be. The whole job took 2 days and the quote he gave me was very reasonable for the work done. I couldn't be happier with the finished product. He left my yard neat and clean and removed all debris. I have already started thinking about other projects I can hire him for. I highly recommend Chris and BLC& Landscaping.

Dan is very knowledgable and qualified to do almost every home repair, quick to access the situation, offered various solution levels, and ultimately did a fantastic job of skim coating all my ceilings after the pop-corn was removed. He was instrumental in modernizing my out-dated home. If you want the job done right, please do not hesitate to hire Dan!!!

I live on a lake and have 2 children that are outside all day. The mosquitoes were horrible. No-Mo-Skeetas was referred to me by my neighbor. I made an appointment and when they came out their customer service was excellent. I really liked the time they took to make sure all the area around my home was taken care of. They are very detailed oriented and professional. I have no-mo-skeetas in my yard. I recommend No-Mo-Skeetas to anyone that spends any time in their yard.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What do pest control companies do?

Pest control companies handle all aspects of bug, rodent and animal extermination or removal. Pest control professionals visit your home or office to identify the type of pest that is troubling you and offer various treatment plans — complete with clearly outlined costs. Once you and the pest control company have a signed agreement, the pro will begin treatment. Pest treatment can range from the use of spray pesticides and gel bait to live and/or kill traps. There are a wide range of types of pesticides, many of them nontoxic for humans and other small animals. This means you may be able to have your home treated for pests without harming nearby wildlife or your dog and cat. The pest control pro will carry out the treatment plan and, depending on the service agreement, provide follow-up such as emptying traps, inspecting access points, or reapplying pesticide spray if the pests return. Costs will vary based on the type of pest you are having removed and the extent of the infestation. The average national pest control price range is $80-$130. From a minor bedbug event to an entire home termite infestation, pest control companies have got you covered.

How much does it cost to remove a mouse?

If you have a mouse in your house you’re probably quickly researching pest control costs. Mice, although tiny, can transmit diseases and also get into your food and leave unsanitary droppings around your home. If you have seen one mouse in your house, it’s likely that more have taken up residence in your crawl space, attic or basement. The national average pest control cost is $150-$200. Costs can vary depending on whether you need to get rid of a population of living mice or just dispose of a dead mouse (or full traps), how extensive the mouse population is, and where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pest control cost for removing a mouse:

    • $150 for initial trap setup and inspection (and sealing of entry holes).
      • $50 for rodent removal service calls and emptying of traps. This visit can also include identifying and sealing entry points that were not sealed on the first visit.
    • Rodent extermination: $110-$350, depending on how heavy the rodent population is, whether the mouse infestation poses health risks, how many entrances exist and how many rodent bait stations are needed.

How much does it cost for a pest control service?

Whether you need to get rid of bugs or rodents, pest removal professionals can be lifesaving when you have an infestation. Pest control prices will vary based on what type of pest is being removed. The national pest control price range is $80-$130, although prices can be much higher for tasks like wildlife removal (raccoons, bobcats, etc.), which might start at $250 and exceed $500, depending on the animal and the trapping measures required.

The cost of eliminating a termite colony ranges on average from $240 to $400, but these costs can increase greatly if the whole house is infested. The average cost to kill cockroaches is between $80 and $130, while bedbug extermination ranges from $320 to $400 on average. The main factors that will affect your pest control price are the type of pest, the extent of the infestation, the accessibility of the infested areas, and the type of treatment required.

How much does it cost to get rid of cockroaches?

Cockroaches are not only ugly, they are difficult to get rid of. Quick and resilient, they can be hard to get rid of without professional help once they have inhabited a house. Nationally, the average range for cockroach pest control cost is $80-$130. Extermination professionals typically provide a free estimate to determine the extent of the infestation. They’ll check for the main sources of the bugs, identify bug access and entry points into your home, and determine the best method for elimination. There are a variety of cockroach extermination tools including gel baits and traps, pesticide foggers, desiccants (which dry out the cockroaches), neurotoxins, and other pesticides. Pest control costs can also cover preventive measures like regular spraying and trap maintenance. Some regions of the country are much more prone to cockroach problems than others, so pest control costs may need to be part of your quarterly budget. Cockroaches love dark, humid, and warm areas and water sources, so place traps near your washer and dryer and under your sinks.

How much does it cost to treat a house for termites?

Termites are not only creepy-crawly, they can literally eat your house out from underneath you. Termites feed on damp and dry wood and can chomp through your house at an alarming rate. The national average pest control cost for termite extermination is $240-$400. Treatment costs can be higher for an extensive infestation. Here are some examples of average pest control costs for termites:

    • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: $3-$4 per linear foot.
      • For $75 per year, a company may offer a maintenance plan that provides inspection of the property and renewal of the warranty.
    • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: approximately $400 for a 2,000-square-foot home at $3-$5 per linear foot.
      • The price is higher for additional work such as foaming and drilling inside of concrete slabs.
    • Fumigation treatment of drywood termites: $1,200-$1,500 for a 30,000- to 35,000-cubic-foot home
      • Fumigation is measured in cubic feet because it fills the airspace of the home and infiltrates the wood that the termites may be colonizing. The cost of fumigation is affected by the number of levels in the home as well as the square footage.
