I would highly recommend Kennedy and Sons for your moving needs. I had an extremely heavy and awkward piece of equipment that needed to be moved from the driveway to the lower level of my home. Dustin and his son were able to accommodate the transition very well. They were prompt to respond to my request, they showed up on time, and handled everything very professionally. Great work!

Due to no fault of the movers, the start time for my appointment was delayed because of a prior customer's appointment. Once the movers arrived, everything went splendid. And to my surprise, instead of expecting two movers, I got three for the price of two. On top of that I received a 10% discount for my inconvenience. All of my merchandise was secured and transported without anything being moved without being cracked or broken. The guys were friendly, knowledgeable and new exactly how to move furniture. Although this was not an easy job, these mover's performance was excellent. Would I use Black Belt again? Most differently! Thanks Black Belt.

Fabulous movers. May be a bit more price wise, but worth every penny. Had our entire house in storage for six months while our new residence was being completed. Climate control is a must.

I called around to several moving companies to move my baby grand and I was surprised how few movers actually had the equipment. Murphys not only had the right equipment but the price was the same as a regular piano. The movers moved it quickly and without damage. I will definitely use Murphy's again!

How much should you tip furniture movers?

Moving furniture is hard work and potentially dangerous unless you’re properly equipped. For anyone not ready to handle their heavy oak armoire alone, professional furniture movers can safely and efficiently move your items to another room in your house or across town as needed. The national average cost to hire heavy furniture movers is $150-$200 per hour. This rate could include multiple furniture movers working as a team to move items such as beds, armoires, billiards tables, pianos, shelves, tables, entertainment centers and more. Hourly rates can vary by region. If your furniture movers have arrived on time, done a great job, kept your home and belongings protected from scratches and dings, and completed the move as planned, a tip will be greatly appreciated. Moving companies suggest approximately 10 percent of the total bill as gratuity for those doing local moving jobs, which is also a good guideline for tipping heavy furniture movers. If the total bill for heavy moving was $100 and two workers were onsite, consider giving them $10 total, or $5 each for a job well done.
