"I teach in the students' homes, and do all the shopping for books so that there is no stress for the parent. Students accelerate in their learning much more quickly than in most piano programs several factors such as being in the comfort of their own home and playing on the piano they have practiced on during the week, and the specific program designed for each student, which is tailored to their style of learning. Since I have been teaching for 26 years, I have many excellent area references. I teach all levels and all ages. I am flexible in my scheduling, so if a student is ill or has a conflict, I can usually find a make-up time the same week. I am always on time, and my students have fun working with me. I teach year-round so summer lessons are mandatory, and necessary family vacation times are credited. I love the balance of focused learning and the enjoyment that both the student and I derive from the progress. We use videotape at intervals for repertoire pieces which makes it very fun to see the progress at different time intervals. (Please understand that I do not put any videos of children on the internet. I believe that this could be dangerous. If you are interested in my teaching, my present student's parents would be happy to talk with you.)
My passion for teaching piano is the only reason that I teach piano. I keep a low number of students and do all I can to make sure that we have a great match between myself and the student, so there is little chance that we need to terminate lessons, or that the student loses interest. The student and I work together as a team, and I am available during the week during non-teaching hours for consultation which is included in the cost of the lesson. I never feel stress with a student nor vice versa, and a common comment I get from parents is that they find it remarkable that the student is self-motivated to practice. I believe that comes from the relationship that is engendered between the student and me. Parents are always welcome to sit in on any lesson."
