    Favero Music Studio

I have two degrees in Piano Performance, so I have the background to understand traditional methods of teaching thoroughly. I have several years of experience teaching and performing under my belt. I also like to think outside of the box, when it comes to instructing piano. I also am a certified Personal Trainer through American Council on Exercise and have a great understanding of the human body. If poor technique has caused injury, I help to rework one's technique to prevent further injury and soreness. I work with all ages groups, from young children to adults of all ages (5 years on up). My oldest student is 85 years young! I enjoy working with people of all ages, and seeing the results that occur through carefully thought out lesson plans in a positive atmosphere. I think it is important for students to feel happy and excited about what they are doing, and feel like they are learning without highly pressuring them to achieve. I work daily with people in all forms and capacities, from all different backgrounds. I love to show people that are deeply and profoundly musical, and can achieve more than they realize.

    Norton Studio

I teach piano and keyboard, including classical and jazz music, chording, vocal accompaniment, second keyboard (church praise bands and pop bands), theory, organ, orchestration, and group playing. I teach children (6 years) through adult from beginner through advanced intermediate levels. I adjust my teaching style to fit the student as best I can. I set my own work hours, so can fit most any schedule, including home school students. I am willing, unlike some teachers, to teach a student using an electronic keyboard. I have an acoustic piano and two keyboards in my studio. I have been teaching piano over 20 years, and I've always tried to make learning piano fun. I have two recitals per year (students strongly encouraged to participate, but not required). I am a member of the Nebraska Federation of Music Clubs. I play organ at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in SpringfieId (and have one of my students play there, as well!). I am choir accompanist at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Millard, and also play there on the contemporary team (piano and second keyboard) as well as occasionally filling in on organ. I play piano and second keyboard at my home church, for contemporary worship. When my students are sufficiently proficient, I bring them along to play and gain that experience.

My academic knowledge (Doctor of Musical Arts) is paired with a thorough understand of teaching techniques and relaxed energy in the studio. I have the information you need, can deliver it to you in a way that makes sense for you, and at your own pace. I like to get the work done, while still having a really good time. It is all about laughing while you learn. I most enjoy working one-on-one with my students and filling their individual needs. I often pick up books or articles that one might enjoy and try to pair them with what the individual is learning in a lesson, rather than applying a one-size-fits all curriculum into the lessons.

I believe that each music teacher works very hard to bring out the best in his/her student. Each teacher has special strengths and those are the ones that they pass on to their students--along with the usual skills that students need. Teaching students of all ages is something I thoroughly enjoy. I love to see the students progress and be able to enjoy the world of music through playing the piano or keyboard. Since I have been involved in teaching for many years, I feel very competent in my field of expertise. My studio is a perfect place for teaching--quiet and private. There is also an area where parents can wait and they can also observe the lessons if they want to do so.

I am EXTREMELY flexible and will orient my lesson plan around my student's wants as well as making sure they learn the necessary components to play the instrument. Fun is a huge part of my lesson plan and I am just as fun as I am a good teacher! Just give me a shot and you will see. Music is my passion and dedication. What I like most is seeing other people enjoying the results they get out of putting in the effort necessary to learn music.

Favero Music Studio

What do you love about your job?

I am excited to teach people new ways of thinking that will increase their joy and success in learning (or relearning) piano. Not only is it gratifying to observe people having a great time, but it is so encouraging to see them having "a-ha" type moments in lessons. Their brains are expanding, and they are beginning to develop new approaches to thinking outside the box. I also love the independence which my job provides, so that I can be flexible for students’ schedules. We all have lives and sometimes, having someone there who understands can help further the process of learning. They feel that they have the accountability and support when they enter my studio. I am here to help.

Who or what inspired you to start your business?

I was encouraged to start my own business while in college and while working for my former piano teacher and his wife. They are both members of Mannheim Steamroller with a vast amount of knowledge acquired through their schooling and also from their lives as musicians and performers. I saw how they ran their business after being hired to work in the office in various forms and capacities. I was also inspired by Neil Moore, the founder of Simply Music, who is proving that we have the means to change the world with a new way of teaching music and with an outside-the-box way of teaching music. Positive thinking and fortitude go a long way when running a business!
