Steve finished off part of our basement. His quote was very reasonable compared to some of the others. He came when he said he would and always cleaned the area before he left. The truly amazing thing about Steve is that when we had a few other small non related tasks, he was always willing to help us out at an extremely reasonable price. My wife had a hope chest that needed a new wheel. When Steve saw it, he realized it actually needed a new piece of wood which he then made at home and brought it to my wife who was moved to tears because we had no idea how to solve that dilemma. He also put up a medicine cabinet in our master bath plus installed an outlet for my house generator. All of these were additional projects. Never did he complain or make us feel we were abusing his talents. When he was finished with the basement project, there was a problem with the internet hook-up. He was there the next day fixing it and was apologetic. I would hire him in an instant if I had another project.
Dave has been very good. He picked up the cabinet and he has kept us informed, sending a path to his blog so we can see what he has done. The project is looking great so far.
Our second terrific experience using Thumbtack! Matt quickly understood our needs (cabinet hinge replacement), picked up the materials and did the repair in less time and for a lower cost than originally quoted. He arrived on time and was very pleasant to work with. I have already recommended Matt to a friend and will be happy to recommend him in the future.
Had a great experience with a paint job of a very large room and with a difficult custom cabinet installation. I would highly recommend them.
We contacted Northeast Construction first based solely on the very professional email they sent. They were also the first to come look at the job, had the estimate to us the next day. Not the cheapest price but after speaking with Brandon I was sold on their experience. Three guys came out to our house, two worked the Sheetrock and one on the cabinet. Everything was covered and throughly cleaned over the couple days that they were there. The work was great, cabinet is perfect, couldn't ask for any thing better or different. Brandon came out to look everything over once the job was done.
John did finish carpentry in my new basement den. There were a couple access panels, a staircase and baseboard and trim. I really like how he did the hidden access panels. They slide out and look very neat. He also fabricated cabinet doors for the storage areas. He is very professional and did the work on budget and within a very reasonable time frame. Definitely hire John for your next project!
They were great! They installed new kitchen and dining room windows, as well as installed new cabinets and put in a vent for over the range microwave. Hooked up our dishwasher/faucet once new sink was installed with the granite countertop. Finished almost all of the project within a week, only had to wait on a special order window which was not his fault it took awhile for that to come in. I recommend to anyone who is looking to get great work done at a reasonable price.
Charlie is a finish carpenter as well as a General Contractor with architectural design talent. Over the past 2 years, he has completely renovated a large gutted loft condo and our 3500 sq ft home in West Medford. People cannot say enough about the wonderful job that he and his small crew accomplished. Neither can we, because we know that some of the situations both homes presented were extremely difficult. He converted a high-end Poggenpohl kitchen to fit the space in our condo, & the whole condo is done in granite and marble, including floors, and full of subtle amenities. And the upgrades he made to our Medford house caused it to sell at a great price right away. He can do anything with wood - did I say that before?? The cherry medicine and bathrrom cabinets & Jacuzzi surround are just gorgeous, and once done, we had to be pried from our house. And on top of that, he is a first class guy - you'll love him, as we did.
I need to fix my oven door. The first company I called charged me a Huge service charge and then told me that the trim is discontinued and they cannot fix it. I found Joe on a local town FB board and he came by and fixed that oven door. So so grateful. He also installed a cook top, fixed a loose kitchen cabinet and a closet door. Highly recommend Dream Conceptions
Did a fantastic job. Careful , beautiful work. Prompt arrival every time we had an arranged meeting. His cabinets are exactly what I wanted. He is ding another project for me, too.
I am very happy with my experience working with Steven from SPB Building Services. He has a level of professionalism that far exceeds that of any contractor I have ever worked with before. He is meticulous in all aspects of his business from estimate to execution and I found his pricing to be fair and transparent. He did a fantastic job on our kitchen cabinet doors and I am really happy with how they look and the timeline in which the work was completed. I highly recommend SPB Building Services and will continue to work with them in the future.
Did a beautiful kitchen with glass tiled backsplash, colored under cabinet lighting. and 2 gorgeous entertainment centers. a Fine Job!!!
Dan installed a butcher block countertop on some newly installed cabinets. We'd ordered the butcher block custom-made and then realized upon receipt that the company didn't do installs. Dan was willing to come out to do this small job for a fair price. Dan was friendly and knowledgeable and when we realized that the cabinets had settled improperly - leaving a noticeable gap between the counter and two cabinets - he walked through my options, including figuring out whether he could stick around and re-install the cabinets for me. We ended up choosing to just install some filler on our own, but Dan seemed to actually care that he walked through how to do it so it would look good in the end. One of the problems with this review is that I can't guarantee quality of work until the butcher block has expanded/contracted over multiple seasons. I had to leave before the end of the install, but Dan was willing to take a call from me and walk through the ways he'd relieved the butcher block to account for minimal expansion of the wood. He also gave a "I stand behind my work" spiel and said I could always call in the future if the countertop buckles and he'd come and fix it. He spoke frequently about how his real passion is custom cabinetry and kitchen additions. Obviously, I can't speak to his work on cabinetry, but if you want an attentive, easy-to-deal with contractor for a future kitchen job I feel like Dan is a good bet.
My wife and I bought our home as new construction back in 2009 and although it had almost all the "bells and whistles" you would want (and expect in a home that originally listed north of 850k) there was one thing that was missing.... and like most men what I wanted was a finished basement to turn into my very own "Man Cave!" I had intended on finishing the space within the first year or two but I never got the project off the ground as two additional kids arrived for us and priorities changed quickly. After years of waiting to start I finally was able to get going on my space just after the holidays this year with the help of my father and father in law. Between the three of us we had just about all steps of the construction covered but when it came time for the finish carpentry I knew that we just didn't have the skills to do work that would be on par with the rest of the home and come out as I envisioned it. Knowing that I reached out to a friend who is an architect for a recommendation and he told me that Mike Seely (owner of The Seely Group) was just the man I needed for the job. After seeing the work Mike had done for in his home I was impressed and called for an estimate. When I spoke with him Mike was polite and professional. He accommodated my schedule and came by to look at the project after dinner one night and was just as friendly in person. He presented a professional appearance and adittude which my wife and I appreciated and he made us feel comfortable and confident in him right away. We went over things and he offered his opinion when appropriate and provided me with options on what to do that I hadn't even thought of. I wanted to have him build me a custom bar and install some crown molding and baseboard plus a few cabinets to cover utility panels. He did the measurements and was on his way and I felt in good hands which was a relief. He got back to me with an estimate promptly and I found his price although not the cheapest I found was more than fair and very much worth it for someone as talented as he is. When he came to work he showed up when he said he was going to and worked diligently and neatly. He kept to our agreed upon schedule and his positive attitude never changed. He was friendly to our children and interacted with them great when they got curious and wanted to see him at work and he made sure to keep the back door shut so our dog didn't get loose. It's things like made the experience good but it was the quality of his work that made the experience great! Everything came out like he said it would and even exceeded my lofty expectations. More importantly he exceeded those of my wife and mother in law too! I would gladly recommend Mike to anyone I know and look forward to coming up with another project for him at our home in the very near future, I can't say enough about how satisfied and happy we are with the outcome and entire experience with Mike in general. The man is truly an artist!
We needed a custom cabinet built in our Master bath. Kevin Jarvis was hired to do the job and I must say that the cabinet looks spectacular! He did excellent woodwork, was very professional, punctual and courteous. I highly recommend him. Our bathroom looks beautiful! Thank you Kevin Jarvis Woodworking.
Roof built over door, sink and pump installed and water hooked up,cabinet built...done in a timely manner, cleaned up after themselves, awesome job, will have them do more .Thanks Guys!
I hired Jeff to install a new kitchen in a house we recently purchased. Not only did he perform his part installing the cabinets and backsplash perfectly but he also helped keep the other components of the remodel (electrical, plumbing etc) on schedule. Jeff also removed a wall creating an open concept kitchen and deftly pieced in a wood floor where the wall previously existed. If you know anything about original hardwood floors you already know how difficult that was. All in all I cannot say enough good things about Jeff's work and the self imposed responsibility he feels for each of his clients. If you want someone who takes the job as seriously as you do you need to hire Jeff Arlit.
Cobby, the table in my living room is a piece of art! Love it!
Very Good Quality cabinets!!
Owain Harris was super easy to work with: came twice to my house, communicated creatively several times about options and kept going patiently until the design for a cherry media center was right. He was always on time, never seemed to be in a rush, and his craftpersonship is just great. The media center is lovely, and his price seemed quite reasonable. He delivered the center when he said he would, and took another, simpler, project right away. I'll definitely call him for my next furniture making need.
I was a little nervous about the refacing cabinet process but the staff at Benchmark soon put me at ease! I love my new kitchen!!!
