I charge $25 less for a diagnosis than other places AND I included the price of TRYING to fix it, which was a couple of hours not charged. No one else does that. I kept Michael in the loop for EVERY step along the way, INCLUDING the diagnosis price AND telling him NOT to proceed any further becuase the chance of success was low. And spent 1-1/2hrs of FREE texting explaining and re-explaining detail upon detail of what was involved and the low chance of success, but he wanted a different answer, that I could not provide. (I still have that exchange) Even after he had decided not to proceed and I agreed, he changed his mind wanted to go forward, knowing the low chance of success, insisting I try TWICE what I would normally do for the attempted repair price. I even foolishly (as he was trying to renegotiate the agreed upon price AFTER we had agreed and I had done the work) did _3_ times the attempted repair, withOUT changing the cost from _1_ attempt to appease him. And yet, as he said here, he STILL stiffed me on the agreed upon payment for diagnosis and 1 attempted repair. I had even been contacted afterwards, by someone I had reached out to for an opinion on this fix, with a possible different approach to try, but when I saw I did not even receive the agreed upon price for the diagnosis, I realized I could not trust his word to pay for more work, so I dropped the matter, losing only what I did, no more. I lost several hours on this effort and feel taken advantage of, given his opinion here and stiffing me on the agreed payment, but always feel I need to give the customer the benefit of the doubt and every possibility of success, going above and beyond what others would in explaining and effort, but sometimes its costs me, as it did here.
