About

I needed a dog trainer to help with a new addition to the family. We already had a 4 year old terrier. She was spoiled as a pup and as a result, we experienced difficulty training her. With the new pup, we did not want to make the same mistake.I hired Jay in hopes that he could correct undesirable behaviors from the older dog, as well as teach a thing or two to my pup. From the very first call, I could tell that Jay was incredibly passionate with what he does and it is apparent with how he teaches. He not only taught my dogs, but he taught invaluable lessons to me and my family. I now enjoy my dogs even more so due to it. He truly went above and beyond,he was always available for questions and he is so incredibly friendly, it's hard not to love the guy. Five stars all around and a million thanks to you Jay for such an amazing job.

About

I cover everything, from aggression and severe anxiety to basic puppy and obedience training. I work exclusively with positive reinforcement; the only method approved by the veterinary board of behavioral sciences. The techniques have been developed and researched by Cornell and Penn University, among others. Me and friends created Pets for Heroes where we train PTSD dogs for our first responders and veterans. Services offered are everything from a one-time session to a six weeks obedience program individually and group classes. Things we go through in these sessions or what we offer are the following: * Food/diets for dogs * How the brain works * How to best motivate your dog * Counter conditioning and desensitizing * How to build a real bond with your companion * Foster care * Crate training * House breaking * How to prevent jumping/mouthing, and how to stop it * Psychology of the dog * Leash manners * Body language * Socialization ability * Service dog training In general, I train you, so you will never need another trainer again. If your dog is of the more aggressive/anxiety type, that needs long-term training. You can get a prolonged discounted price. I also can work with your vet, or a vet behaviorist, with my last client I am working with Cornell's Veterinary behaviorists board in conjunction with, as well if your dog would need medication.

About

Pawsatively Love is exactly what the name says! Elizabeth Wood who heads the company came into our lives thanks to the recommendation of a trainer who knew that our dog Georgia, a muscular, reactive bundle of energy, could not be handled by just anyone. That was almost a year ago and we are all--including Georgia--so happy and grateful to have Elizabeth in our lives. In addition to being knowledgeable, totally responsible and reliable, Elizabeth clearly loves our four legged kids. If we had tails, we would wag them as enthusiastically as Georgia does when Elizabeth arrives. Highly recommended, totally trustworthy and intuitively in synch with her charges. Two paws up (or should I say four?)!

About

I would HIGHLY recommend Fido Fitness Club to anyone who wants the best for their dog! I organize a dog playgroup and found Fido Fitness Club when I was searching for an indoor dog park area for my group to meet. The first time I brought my dog to Fido Fitness, I was pleased. The facility is spacious, CLEAN!, and comfortable and the owners were there on the premises, involved in the day to day operations of their business. My dog played for several hours and made friends quickly with both the staff and the other dogs. Everyone who works there loves dogs and Fido Fitness's behavioral specialist/trainer spent time getting to know my dog, answering my questions about the facility, answering specific questions regarding my dog's quirks, and giving me advice as to how to begin reclaiming my status as the Alpha of my home. I recently left the country for 11 days and I was stressing over the thought of leaving my Frenchie with a kennel. While my dog is a good girl, she has a tendency of letting me know that she's unhappy with me when I come home from my trips! I ultimately decided to leave my dog at the Barrie Inn, which is owned by one of the same women who own Fido Fitness. During the evenings and mornings, the dogs are at the Barrie Inn and during the daytime, the dogs are in daycare with all their friends at Fido Fitness. They're never caged unless you ask for that! I also liked the fact that I could even watch my furbaby on the webcam from overseas if I was missing her. While I was gone, I called several times to check on Stella and was met with friendly and warm voices (of people I knew!!!) from both the Fido Fitness and the Barrie Inn staff who updated my on me dog's behavior and I was reassured that I'd made the right choice. The truest test though has been the fact that my dog has been sweet as pie since she came home! No vindictiveness, she's doing wonderfully, and even seems to listen better! (Anyone who has a dog who thinks that she's queen knows that this is a Godsend!) Ellen, Evelyn, Steve, Carol, and the rest of the staff are superb. You will not regret leaving your pup in the hands of these wonderful dog-lovers! I would highly recommend Fido Fitness and the Barrie Inn and would never even consider leaving my dog anywhere else!
