She was quick to respond to my messages and we were able to come to an agreement on both price and timeline for completion. I just needed my thesis edited for grammar and punctuation, but she found a few other mistakes I was not aware of. Upon completing her edits, she wrote up a summary of the results as well as a list of things that I should be on the lookout for in my document. After her edits, she was able to be contacted by phone for clarification and last minute questions. Overall I thought my thesis was well edited for a fair price. The meaning is still there in my own words, but now the grammar is correct.

I worked with Sara on a handful of projects for one of my clients. The work ranged from email subject line testing and email content to editing and reworking sections of their website by incorporating information from dozens of whitepapers and one sheets. She is very collaborative and thinks about the big picture but can also turn things around quickly when you're in a pinch.

Over the last 2.5 years, David Gertler has helped me edit a book I am writing about chess. As a philosophy professor, I have had 12 books published in the last decade (mostly new editions of textbooks), and so I have extensive experience with editors, proofreaders, compositors, and so on. Mr. Gertler's work has been exemplary -- helpful, insightful, and prompt. He has done research for me, improved my prose, and noticed apostrophes that were backwards. He has marked up around 35 different chapters (sometimes multiple drafts), totaling several hundred single-spaced pages. I have agreed with upwards of 90% of his suggestions, which might be a record in my experience. He is one of the very best.

I've been writing, editing, and proofreading for more than 20 years, not including all the business and legal writing that I've done. I do all kinds of projects, but I've mostly been copywriting, proofreading, and editing for a major publisher of medical and nursing books and journals ... print and electronic marketing pieces. My business is great because I am very conscientious and dedicated to meeting deadlines. I hope you'll choose me to assist you!

About

My command of English is impeccable. I have an eagle eye that is second to none, and my attention to detail is exceptional. I'd put my work up against the work of the best editors in publishing. I find grating errors every day in the writing of New York Times and Philadelphia Inquirer journalists, among others, and it makes my hair stand on end. I think that the fine art of writing proper English, including using the right words in the right contexts, following the accepted rules of grammar and syntax, and using punctuation as it was meant to be used, among other issues, is becoming a lost art, to the detriment of all. If I could, I'd clean up every poorly executed website on the Internet and fix every single mistake I see on every page, and there are many! It's enough to drive a sane person crazy.
