About

I have been taking beginner classical guitar lessons with Ian for about 5 months and couldn't be happier. Ian is talented, patient, and kind. He has provided a great mix of scales/chords/exercises and real music, which has helped me stay engaged even while learning the basics. He has also bent over backward to accommodate my work schedule and just generally cares a lot about his students.

About

I'm an adult student that has been taking guitar lessons for a little over 2 years. Brian's lessons are fun, educational and he always takes the time to make sure I understand the "mechanics" of the guitar. Brian is always pushing me to the next level and never hesitates when I ask to learn yet another David Gilmour song.

About

I offer guitar, piano, music theory, and songwriting lessons for all ages in my home for an affordable price of $30 for half hour, $40 for 45 minutes, and $50 for an hour. I have been teaching for over 6 years. I've taught nearly a hundred or more students in my experience with all genres, including classical guitar with a special expertise in blues and rock guitar as well as songwriting. I'm a very laid-back person, and I am easy to reschedule with and do not charge for call out as long as they're not excessive. I live with my mother and lessons will take place on the first floor in our family room. Guitar players will bring their instrument, and piano players will play on my beautiful 1920 Weber baby grand piano. I try my best to keep a balance of what the student wants to learn with the necessary skills that the student must learn to accomplish his or her goals in the most fun and rewarding way possible. I don't believe that there is "one way" to do things, and that couldn't be truer in the subject of music. I understand that everyone has different reasons for learning; some want to go to a music school, and some just want to have a fun hobby. I adjust each lesson according to the specific needs of the student. Thank you for viewing my profile! I hope you'd find a teacher that best suits your needs. - James

About

We recently moved and unfortunately lost our previous instructor, who was amazing with children. It was difficult in locating a piano teacher nearby for my kids until we found Musika. They matched our children with an accomplished and friendly instructor that enjoys teaching younger students. We absolutely recommend Kuan for piano lessons :)

About

My name is Keith Packard. I am a professional jazz and rock guitarist. I offer guitar lessons in Bayonne, Jersey City, and Hoboken, with experience teaching hundreds of students of all ages, from beginners to very advanced. I teach in my home lesson space in Bayonne, and I travel to my students' homes throughout Bayonne, Jersey City and Hoboken. I graduated magna cum laude with a B.M. in Jazz Guitar Performance from William Paterson University. While there, I studied with many great jazz musicians. If you choose me as your teacher, I guarantee that if you practice what we go over in lessons, you will learn to play the guitar. And, unlike many other music instructors, I show you how to be creative with the material on your own time and find ways of expanding and learning beyond what we go over every week. Because of this approach, my students are very motivated and achieve great things amazingly fast. Some of the things we will get into include chords, soloing, rhythm, sight-reading, songs, picking technique, effects/sound, fingerpicking, arpeggios, scales, and much more. I teach primarily at my home studio in Bayonne but also travel to student's homes in Bayonne, Jersey City and Hoboken. Rates at my place are $22 for the half hour and $44 for the full hour, but rates will increase depending on how far I travel to teach at your home. I also teach classes of two to three students which would cost less for individual students. I encourage you to find a friend to take lessons with if you would like to do this. Thank you very much, and I hope to hear from you!
