Dealing with many vendors while planning a wedding can be quite overwhelming but working with Sweet Harmony was a wonderful experience. I love being on top of everything, I am organized and very particular. However, I found Tara the owner amazing to work with throughout the whole process. She is professional reliable, accommodating and lovely. We hired a String Quartet to play at our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. Then, just a month prior to the big day we decided to have a Jazz trio (Piano, Saxophone, vocal) playing while having dinner during the reception because we love live music. Tara made it happen! The day of the wedding all the musicians arrived early and played beautifully. While on our honeymoon my husband forgot to make the payment for the overtime dinner music. Tara was so patient she waited a few weeks before sending me a reminder. When I called to apologize she was very understanding and nice as always. We will definitely recommend company to our family and friends and we are looking forward to do business with them in the future. Thanks you Sweet Harmony! Carolane & David
Ivan played cocktail hour at my wedding - not only was his music great, but I really appreciated his responsiveness and professionalism. He made the whole process a breeze!
Scott, was amazing at our wedding and reception. Very talented guitarist and great voice! Huge repertoire. Our guests all loved him too. Many Thanks to Scott for making a special night even more perfect. Kim and Bernie Neilley.
Thanks Alan! Everyone had fun with the music at the wedding!
Josh and his group performed at my wedding this past Saturday and were nothing short of phenomenal. The number of guests that came up to me and my fiancé raving about their performance was incredible. They played an amazing set that included a wide variety of music that everyone enjoyed - several times we ran out of room on the actual dance floor and people continued dancing outside the designated area which was great. I am definitely going to recommend them to my friends and family, as well as reach out again in the future if we need another performance. Thanks again Josh - you guys really made our wedding special and we'll never forget it. -Garrett & Tracy
I've played with Jimi since the first time I picked up the instrument (bass for 11 years). Lessons with him enabled me to play in big bands and small ensembles at the college level, as well as have a steady stream of gigs when I was in school. His method of teaching is sadly growing rarer and rarer in private lesson study. Rather than mandate to the student rote musical examples which are a.) boring and b.) relate nothing about learning actual music, Jimi's approach is a holistic one that has faith in pupil's drive and intelligence. He demonstrates aspects of music theory fundamentals, and then has the student utilize the formulas he has imparted to extrapolate the rest, with his guidance of course. If the student has trouble, Jimi instructs to fill in the gaps but never spoon feeds. This method insures the student actually learns and internalizes the information, rather than becomes an automaton. Moreover, Jimi encourages the students to bring in pieces that they actually like to play! So instead of spending months hammering out a highly diluted version of a Bach morning song, the student can bring in pieces by Zep, the Strokes, the Black Keys, Rihanna, whatever! Jimi then instructs through elucidating the music theory fundamentals within the songs that drew the student to the instrument in the first place! Jimi is professional, yet laid back. I have continued my friendship with him after studying and going on to professional life. He's just a good dude to know. Lastly, and this should be the last thing you consider. Jimi's rates are always reasonable. For private study in college, I paid 3-4 times as much for a lesson as what I paid when taking a lesson with Jimi. I hope you Long Islander aspiring musicians realize what a gem you have there.
Sean and his band provided ideal lively jazz music at a local event. They were super easy to communicate with beforehand, and they played beautifully to a large very appreciative crowd. I strongly recommend them.
Vocal session as they should be! I can HIGHLY recommend Dave! Whether you are a new to singing, getting back in the swing or just keeping your voice limber, Dave is an absolute joy to work with. I have been touring with a rock band for many years and working with Dave has widened my range significantly and has helped me unlock my hidden potential!
Drew arrived early to set everything up and played beautiful music at our wedding ceremony. It’s exactly everything we wanted. Thanks !
I looooove Soulful Sounds! They are my favorite band. They played at my wedding in August 2015. I'm so glad I gave them a chance. Besides picking my dress they were the best decision for my wedding. People still talk about how great the band was. My only regret was that I didn't have them play the whole night. The guys are so prefessional and they dress for the job. I highly recommend them to everyone I know. I can't wait for my next event to have Soulful Sounds play. Keep up the good work guys. I feel like they get better every time I hear them. Love Vicky
Allison was scheduled to do our wedding and had to cancel but she found a replacement for me right away and there were no problems.
Mark Weisman has been my son's piano teacher since he was 11 years old. Alex is now a proficient pianist at age 21. Under the tutelage of Mark, my son advanced from a music student to a true musician. Mark is an engaging teacher who introduces his students to a variety of music genres, keeping classical, standards and popular music all part of the student's repertoire. My son Alex's interest in music was spurred on by Mark's enthusiasm and style of teaching. The Music Workshop conducts annual performances for parents and friends so we can see the progress our children have made. My son is now in college and still studies with Mark on breaks and in the summer. Alex belongs to The Jazz Band at Loyola University as well as his own band. He has played professionally for cocktail hours and theater productions. Mark has inspired Alex to continue his music into his adulthood. Mark Weisman is an exemplary teacher and person.
I had started getting into Latin music a little over a year ago when I met first met Nick Herman. Originally, I tried to learn to play Latin percussion (congas, bongos, timbales etc.) from books and instructional videos. I also tried lessons with a few different musicians. I was at it for months, however, I found my progress to be very slow. Eventually, I confronted Nick about lessons. After only 5 lessons, my bongo playing had improved exponentially! I would play my bongos with other musicians in the park and after one or two songs, many people would compliment me on my playing. One night I played a duet with a guitarist who would compliment me on my playing after every song. Later, I came to find out he was the leader of a salsa band who frequently performed around the city! Shortly after that I made Nick my official trainer on the bongos and cowbell! Nick Herman also leads his own band. I think anyone who is serious about learning Latin percussion would benefit greatly by having Nick as an instructor. I wish I had began lessons with him sooner!
I went to Klein's last night in Belmar with my friend Rachel to see Jeremy and Jimmy Acoustic Duo. These guys are great! Their rendition of songs are amazing and their sound is incredible. Jeremy & Jimmy truly enjoy what they do and it's reflected in their performance. So, if you're ever looking for live entertainment whether small, big, corporate...these two will surely bring it! They also founded "Wrapped Around Your Finger"; a full on 9 piece event/wedding band. Check 'em out! Thanks guys for a great night!👍
Duetti was perfect for our daughter's wedding. Their selection of music played during the cocktail reception was exactly the style and tone we had requested. Well done, Michele!
Chanan was a joy to work with! Knowledgeable and skilled and very creative. He helped produce a record of sacred music for me and also provided back up guitar for my band when needed a few times in Dallas. He is an exceptional engineer and guitar player with a fine ear for detail.
Having Sabina play at our wedding was an absolute delight. I wasn’t totally sure of the music that I wanted for my wedding so going into the first meeting I was totally lost. Sabina made me feel so comfortable and normal and ensured me that this happens often and not to worry. With a few suggestions we settled on the songs and heard them played (and obviously loved them!). Her professionalism was impeccable, from beginning to the very end. Guests are still remembering the great music for our reception! Would highly recommend :)
The Verdict played at our welcome dinner in VT the night before our wedding for around 150 guests. They were amazing, and exceeded our already sky-high expectations. We and our guests had an awesome time, and we have The Verdict to thank for it! They are extremely talented musicians, and you can tell they love to play together; there is a soul to their music that is not typical of most bands. They really read the mood of the crowd and make sure everyone is having a good time – they played softer background music during cocktail hour and dinner, and then switched to dancing music after dinner that got everyone out on the dance floor. They are true entertainers – getting everyone at the event out of their seats dancing, laughing and celebrating. John, the band leader, was a pleasure to work with and was extremely flexible and responsive. He answered all our questions beforehand and worked with us to make sure the evening was exactly what we wanted. They sound amazing – their song list is extensive and varied, and they can play anything from roots reggae to pop with a great reggae vibe. We highly recommend the Verdict for any party or event – they were a pleasure to work with and will make sure everyone has an AWESOME time. -Emma & Jeff
We hired Sho in early May to perform as a string quartet at the cocktail hour for our wedding, and we could not be happier with his performance! I love classical music but do not know string quartets as well, so Sho helped recommend some songs that would fit well. He was always very responsive and professional in communicating while planning the event. And best of all was the performance, as the quartet looked and sounded superb! It is clear that they all love music and are very talented and professional. I will highly recommend Sho to anyone in the future!
I'm not a musician myself, but I was blown over by how easy Caroline was to work with and she is clearly a talented violinist--she helped make our wedding really beautiful. Some of my musician friends commented on how technically amazing her playing was, and I'd definitely defer to their thoughts on the music front :). I'd highly recommend Caroline to play at any event where music, professionalism, and quality really matters! Thanks, Caroline!
I had all wonderful vendors at my wedding. But by far, I got the most compliments from my guests for the beautiful music. Many of them wanted to know where I found Mikhail. Everyone loved their performance and their music really made the day so eloquent and special. Ask Mikhail to send you a link to their performance and you will be so glad. I Highly Recommend them for any event you need muscians. If ever there is an occasion, I will defintely hire them again.
