I am 69 and always wanted to be able to draw. Never could do anything much beyond stick figures. Faces? Forget it. But look what I've accomplished after about 10 lessons, copying a Matisse portrait using Conte crayons (and I work very slowly)!!! Kelsey is a patient and intuitively gifted teacher and a delight to sit across from as I learn. I'm so glad that I found her. I highly recommend that you study with her too.
Mrs. Gallo is one of the best teachers I've ever had. I've studied with her for 1.5 yrs. She is patient, fun, and makes things easy to undertand. We drew from life in charcoal - each session increasing in difficulty. With each drawing, she taught me composition, light vs shadow, foundational drawing techniques, shadow shapes, and comparative measuring! She never shied away from my pesky questions. She pointed me towards websites, books, art shows, and much much more! She MORE than helped me with my college portfolio. With her help and guidance, I was accepted into one of the best classically trained art school in the world. She will go completely out of her way to help and better her students. I would definitley give her more than five stars if I could! She is absolutely the best!!!!
The time I spent their everything was amazing, the live entertainment, the intro to art and drawing I especially love because I like to draw, and thenjoy you get to paint your own glass and that's part of your gifts for coming ,Ms.Green goes beyond and above to make you feel special and welcome!
i am an adult who went back to playing the piano after taking lessons in classical music as a child to age 20. i wanted to be able to play classical and jazz piano, and frank has enabled me to do so. his piano side manner is terrific and he is a gifted, generous teacher. he is also an excellent musician. i highly recommend frank for Skype lessons as his awesome personality will transfer from the computer to the keyboard or guitar. joy l.
Nanci is a great artist and an outstanding teacher- she even taught me to draw quite well
Hi, I have been working with Matt since 2012 for both my own painting work and for my daughter who is a teen. Matt encourages research (brings art history into the process ), observation, and drawing what you see - he covers different approaches to the disciplines: drawing, painting, watercolor, sculpture, print-making, mixed media, giving my daughter tools that she used to complete her portfolio. Matt helped her create the right type of work for and to edit and fine tune her portfolio. The completed portfolio was a huge confidence booster for her. Matt's training was a huge help in preparing for applying to art high schools and helped to get accepted into Laguardia HighSchool. I highly recommend him.
I was developing a small collection of souvenirs focusing on Brooklyn and New York city. His artwork/portfolio caught my eyes. Unusual and extremely talented. In fact, beyond what I was looking for, in terms of quality and experience. So, it was the curiosity & his talent got a project started. With a few phone calls and thumbnail drawings, we got the direction done and he DELIVERED !!! No complaints or comments other than I wish I had more jobs for him.
I brought my son (7 years old) to Isabelle's studio (such an inspiring fun place) for an art lesson. We came after he got out of school, on a weekday! Isabelle was so welcoming and made my son feel very comfortable from the beginning! She provided supplies, let him choose what type of medium he wanted to use, taught him some great basic techniques, how to hold the brush and how to mix colors. I was encouraged to stay with them in the studio in a comfy chair, got to catch up on some emails and was able to participate too! My son was proud to take home his paintings after his lesson. Throughout our visit, Isabelle and I got to talking and I ended up commissioning her to paint a painting for my son's room. I was able to give her some reference photos... from there she created a piece even better than I had originally imagined. She gave me a realistic time line and price. I am very pleased with her professionalism and have already recommended her to friend's
Great teacher, very patient with beginners and kids. My kids are so happy having violin and painting lessons with Elena. Highly recommended.
Daniel is an amazing and excellent sculptor as well as teacher, he is super knowledgeable about everything from the simple things such as easy techniques for beginners, to the more in depth like human anatomy so the sculptures are proportionate, I am learning so much and so excited to not only finish my current project but to also start the next one with him as my instructor!
I am a professional artist and musician who has shown work all over the world. My greatest joy comes from helping those who have the creative inclination to take their gifts to the highest level.
I have taught French and Spanish since 1975. I am also an accomplished painter and provide instructions in drawing and painting.
I am a well trained as an artist and have a great way of dealing with people. I truly enjoy showing and helping people to express their abilities as creativity goes. These days people do not use the old school, pencil to paper often enough. The very young may never have someone who helps them use the skills that everyone has to an extent. There is no greater feeling than helping someone discover their talents and abilities. The hands on experience will change any person or child. It brightens their view of the world and gives them confidence to experiment with creativity and ultimately grow. I have always enjoyed helping people in any way. I enjoy helping old people to cross the street as much as I enjoy helping someone realize their potential. I have skills that took years to develop and everyone has the ability to grow this way. Although some are better than others, the satisfaction gained from creating is essential at any level. Allowing oneself to express themselves is so important. I want to expose people, especially younger people to concepts they may never know because computers are so prevalent.
I work from reality ,usually from photographs .I strongly believe that artwork should speak for itself ,without an interpreter. I get to let others to discover a hidden talent they did not know they had.
I am an intermediate drawer. I speak both French and Creole and will be glad to meet your demands.

Our instructors are trained artists who love teaching and sharing the joy of art-making with others. Summer Art Camp instructors have earned at least a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and some hold higher degrees and/or teaching certificates. Most classes also have a dedicated teaching assistant, making the adult/child ratio no greater than 1 to 8. Creative power increases a young child's desire to learn and supports intellectual development. Children show imaginative use of color, themes, and flights of fancy in their language. As teachers, we play an important role in supporting children's ability in art, dramatic expression, and creative responses to problems.
I teach basic techniques in drawing, sketching, and other forms of art to adults as well as children. I let the student grow at his or her own pace. It would be a 10 week program and at the end we evaluate to see if you wish to continue into doing more. Drawing brings out the beauty that is within. I tell my students that "a pencil in the hands of an artist is the eyes of their soul."
