Evan was great at my daughter's 13th birthday party. Everyone loved their drawings!
Kate Cope was my professor for a Drawing I course I took in undergrad. Her instruction was clear, supportive, and helpful in developing my drawing skills. When class first began, I drew quite small, cramped, and restricted pieces. I had not drawn in years, and had let my favorite hobby fall to the wayside due to other life priorities. By the end, as you'll see in the pictures, I felt encouraged to draw bigger and "louder" (if you will) with useful and constructive critiques and guidance. I am thankful for having had her as a professor and for her bringing an old hobby and love of mine--drawing--back for me.
Nanci is a great artist and an outstanding teacher- she even taught me to draw quite well
Hi, I have been working with Matt since 2012 for both my own painting work and for my daughter who is a teen. Matt encourages research (brings art history into the process ), observation, and drawing what you see - he covers different approaches to the disciplines: drawing, painting, watercolor, sculpture, print-making, mixed media, giving my daughter tools that she used to complete her portfolio. Matt helped her create the right type of work for and to edit and fine tune her portfolio. The completed portfolio was a huge confidence booster for her. Matt's training was a huge help in preparing for applying to art high schools and helped to get accepted into Laguardia HighSchool. I highly recommend him.
Kaya gave my 10 year old son a drawing lesson this week and she did an excellent job. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. He loved it and can’t wait for the next lesson.
Ellen is absolutely fantastic to work with - she took my very basic description of an invented character and returned an absolutely stunning drawing of exactly what I had in my mind. She was very prompt sending sketches for approval and made any tweaks as requested. I cannot wait to work with her again.
I brought my son (7 years old) to Isabelle's studio (such an inspiring fun place) for an art lesson. We came after he got out of school, on a weekday! Isabelle was so welcoming and made my son feel very comfortable from the beginning! She provided supplies, let him choose what type of medium he wanted to use, taught him some great basic techniques, how to hold the brush and how to mix colors. I was encouraged to stay with them in the studio in a comfy chair, got to catch up on some emails and was able to participate too! My son was proud to take home his paintings after his lesson. Throughout our visit, Isabelle and I got to talking and I ended up commissioning her to paint a painting for my son's room. I was able to give her some reference photos... from there she created a piece even better than I had originally imagined. She gave me a realistic time line and price. I am very pleased with her professionalism and have already recommended her to friend's
I was developing a small collection of souvenirs focusing on Brooklyn and New York city. His artwork/portfolio caught my eyes. Unusual and extremely talented. In fact, beyond what I was looking for, in terms of quality and experience. So, it was the curiosity & his talent got a project started. With a few phone calls and thumbnail drawings, we got the direction done and he DELIVERED !!! No complaints or comments other than I wish I had more jobs for him.
i am an adult who went back to playing the piano after taking lessons in classical music as a child to age 20. i wanted to be able to play classical and jazz piano, and frank has enabled me to do so. his piano side manner is terrific and he is a gifted, generous teacher. he is also an excellent musician. i highly recommend frank for Skype lessons as his awesome personality will transfer from the computer to the keyboard or guitar. joy l.
Great teacher, very patient with beginners and kids. My kids are so happy having violin and painting lessons with Elena. Highly recommended.
Daniel is an amazing and excellent sculptor as well as teacher, he is super knowledgeable about everything from the simple things such as easy techniques for beginners, to the more in depth like human anatomy so the sculptures are proportionate, I am learning so much and so excited to not only finish my current project but to also start the next one with him as my instructor!
I teach basic techniques in drawing, sketching, and other forms of art to adults as well as children. I let the student grow at his or her own pace. It would be a 10 week program and at the end we evaluate to see if you wish to continue into doing more. Drawing brings out the beauty that is within. I tell my students that "a pencil in the hands of an artist is the eyes of their soul."
I am a professional artist and musician who has shown work all over the world. My greatest joy comes from helping those who have the creative inclination to take their gifts to the highest level.
I am a well trained as an artist and have a great way of dealing with people. I truly enjoy showing and helping people to express their abilities as creativity goes. These days people do not use the old school, pencil to paper often enough. The very young may never have someone who helps them use the skills that everyone has to an extent. There is no greater feeling than helping someone discover their talents and abilities. The hands on experience will change any person or child. It brightens their view of the world and gives them confidence to experiment with creativity and ultimately grow.

Our instructors are trained artists who love teaching and sharing the joy of art-making with others. Summer Art Camp instructors have earned at least a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and some hold higher degrees and/or teaching certificates. Most classes also have a dedicated teaching assistant, making the adult/child ratio no greater than 1 to 8.
