Hello! My name is Ian Krivoshein and am the proud owner of IK Fitness personal training, rehabilitation, and massage therapy. Thank you for your consideration! From an early age I experienced the life altering effects of bullying, isolation due to my obesity and non-athleticism, and injuries from numerous accidents. Learning to be happy in one's own skin is elemental - however my motivation in my style of training and massage therapy comes from a passion and love for the amazing science and resilience of the human body!  12 years ago I began this company after graduating with a degree in Anatomy & Physiology, Exercise Science, and minor in Nutrition. I am ACSM, NASM, and ACE certified and fully insured both for in-studio training at my facility in Pompton Plains and Riverdale, New Jersey and in home appointments. Likewise, am Swedish Institute certified for massage modalities and am an Easter Seals member - privileged in training special needs patients. Many of my personal training clients utilize my massage services providing a well rounded approach to fitness, flexibility, relaxation, and overall well being. Such clients include post physical therapy patients to children looking to improve their agility in sports. I enjoy bridging circuit training with balance, coordination, mixed martial arts, and muscle confusion techniques. Similary am well versed in crossfit exercises, bodybuilding, and most modern approaches to weightloss, athletic conditioning, & attention that special needs and autistic patients require. All of my training packages include a nutritional evaluation and stretching protocol. I pour this same passion into my massage therapies and include essential oil infusion in all my organic oils and lotions. There is an ingrained and undying love for the work that I do and am excited to be part of your transformation. I look forward to hearing from you!  ~ Best of health My successes in personal training, nutritional guidance, and massage therapy stems from healthy and honest communication between myself and my clients. Seeing results is crucial, but at the same time having fun and learning something in the process is a must! I hope to pass this along to all I see whether in the gym, on the scale, or on my massage table. An autistic child can ask for a selfie with me after her kick-ass workout, a client can now fit into a stunning dress for a special event, or I get an email from an executive who shot par at his last golf outting feeling minimal to no pain in the shoulder he had operated on and my week has been made! Job well done!See more

As I live by the name Bodied By Tahshii, I also live by my core values of health, wellness and fitness. I am currently certified through ACE, and Certified and specialize in corrective exercise, functional training and pre /post natal. My niche focuses on functionality and how the human body is supposed to move. I am also in the process of going into Occupational Therapy to merge the two professions together. I want to shift my patients into becoming my clients. As a person who use to be over 200lbs, I learned in my early to mid thirties that helping someone how to lose body fat and to keep it off, is not enough when the client has chronic joint problems or acute pain and or dysfunctional movement patterns that will lead that client into permanent injury. Speaking from experience, I also know this to be true. I noticed when I became a fitness professional, that I focused so much on form and also wonder why and how my clients moved the way they did, that was clear that he/she had a dysfunctional movement pattern. Fat lose and looking physically fit is great and all and you may feel great, but how do your joints and stability musculature feel? Does your entire core feel secure? Some people would say they feel fine, but what is normal to you, may not be normal and what I mean by that is, is it a correct functional pattern you move through? If you don't know, then I suggest you train with me to find out.See more

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a boot camp class?

Fitness boot camps are a heart-pounding way to boost your fitness level. Boot camps are led by a fitness instructor and are based on the concept of military boot camps — intensive workout programs to get new recruits into shape, quickly. Fitness boot camps encourage camaraderie, and the group momentum helps participants get through fast-paced intervals of cardio, isometric training, strength training and endurance drills. Classes may range anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes, and usually meet multiple days per week. Boot camps often run a specific duration of time, say four to six weeks, which creates a team-like environment for class members. Other boot camps run year-round and students purchase package pricing for classes, similar to subscriptions that allow them a set amount of classes per week or per month.

Boot camps can be held indoors at a gym, outdoors in a park or on a beach, in a backyard — anywhere there’s room for running, jumping and sweating. Some instructors also provide DVD and online boot camps. You can also find boot camps tailored to your heart’s desire, such as bikini boot camp, or boot camps for new mothers. Boot camps offer an intense workout and are usually led by energetic instructors pushing you to do your best, but unlike military boot camp drill sergeants, fitness boot camp instructors typically don’t use intimidation or punishment to spur you on. Check with your doctor before starting a boot camp if you have health concerns, and always let your instructor know ahead of time if you have injuries.

How much is a boot camp?

The cost of fitness boot camps depends on how often you go, the package you are purchasing (or if you are paying a drop-in fee), the location of the bootcamp, the equipment the instructors provide, and the background and reputation of the instructor. Smaller towns and areas with a lower cost of living typically have lower rates for boot camp services than big cities and regions with a higher cost of living. If you’re paying per class on a drop-in basis, expect to pay anywhere from $12 to $25 or more, depending on the region and the instructor. When you purchase a package of classes, typically the more you buy at one time, the cheaper each class is. The same boot camp class might be $20 for a drop-in student, $15 for a student who pays for 10 classes per month, and $10 for a student who pays for 30 classes a month. Studio space can also affect costs, so if your boot camp takes place in a high-end gym with top-of-the-line equipment, the prices will likely be higher than a class that meets in an outdoor space with limited or no equipment. Shop around to find the right type of boot camp class and the right instructor for you.
