FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Once a customer hears about me from a friend or finds my on the internet they are prompted to text or email me (so their is a record of our conversation to refer to). I usually request information such as Event Date, Event Location, Event Timeframe, Expected Number of Participants, Event Theme, Event Type and Services interested in. Once I get this information I create anywhere from 1 to 5 quotes (price points) they can choose from. I find this the most helpful as they can choose what quote fits their needs the most. I require a $50.00 non-refundable booking fee to secure their event date and time-frame. I also reward my customers by offering discounts if they pay in full a month or more in advance. I take a variety of payments but, most of my customers pay the fee or in full using PayPal. Once I receive payment I will confirm their booking via text, email, or fb message. From their they no longer have to worry about contacting me unless they have additional questions. I try to arrive 15 minutes early for setup, but the clock does not start until I am ready to perform services.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I belong to several facebook groups specifically for people who work in the Face Painter industry. We share our work, tips, and other information pertaining to our field.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been doing this for 18 years and it all started with me drawing on my own skin with a pen. My sister said I would get ink poisoning so I switched to Crayola non-toxic markers, but the colors would run. Then one day in art class I had some left over paint on my pallet and decided to smear it all over my hands. The colors were rich and vibrant.....so I started painting designs on my body every day for school. Then one day we had a Pep Rally in High School and I painted a bunch of Seniors with our school mascot for a dollar. In one hour I made $60.00, that is when I decided that I could do this for a living.
