Introduction: I like to focus our efforts at the piano together at letting the music come out and alive. That's what I love about improvising at the piano. Improvising is in part about feeling and expressing and I like to nurture that expression. I love when the various skills and challenges about playing a musical instrument come together and the music moves to another level.

I found the lessons I took with you stimulating and exciting and learned proficiency in jazz piano skills. It was an amazing experience to learn progressions, chords and rhythms, without needing to refer to reading music. My early classical training on the piano involved gaining skills in reading and interpreting music only and mastering the written piece. You taught jazz piano theory in a relaxed and fluid manner, that anyone can easily access and be successful at. I highly recommend Joseph Salack for piano students of any age and level of experience.

This past year I was working w an 11th grader and I loved how we were able to pursue what intrigued him and excited him. In our work together I loved how his unique skills came together to make playing the piano fun and rewarding for him.
