Greg was great to work with. He explained his inspection findings with easy-to-understand language and pictures, and was happy to answer any questions along the way. He published the inspection report to an online system that makes it easy to view and manage. He also called the day after the inspection to make sure we could access the report and didn't have any further questions. I really appreciate that Greg not only pointed out items for repair/maintenance, but also highlighted features of the home that made it safer and more desirable. When you're buying an older house it's nice to know the good along with the bad. I would absolutely recommend Greg to anyone looking for a good home inspector.

My insurance company requested a foundation inspection because I made a mistake of calling them about tiles coming up in my hallway and bathroom 12' from the foundation. I called Accomplished and he came out and did a thorough inspection. Unfortunately the report included his opinion about the grading in one area being a reverse grade and his suggestion would be to put in a drainage system. The insurance company took his opinion as a requirement and cancelled my homeowners policy unless I made the repairs which according to contractors would require the removal and relocation of my pool equipment, removal of the sidewalk, encroaching onto my neighbors property, installing the drainage system and then replacing everything. Since I cannot do what the insurance company wants, financially or logically based on the report I have been cancelled. I did not ask him to lie about anything in the report, I just did not expect him to put his personal suggestion into it. So now I am without insurance because as soon as other companies find out I have been cancelled by one the other companies will not insure me. So this was a terrible experience. He is a good inspector and covered everything a foundation inspection should entail but the drainage comment should never have been included.
Accomplished Home Inspections LLC's reply
Hi Mark, I'm sorry to hear about your insurance company response. But there was a negative slope on the property and if we had failed to make note of it in the report then we would be liable and in non compliance with industry standards. We did state that there was no visible problems resulting from at the time of inspection. I would recommend you reach out to some other contractors for estimates to instal a French drain or similar drainage system to shed water away from the structure. Sounds like the one you spoke with was submitting an inflated bid. I know for a fact that a French drain system can be installed in place without having to remove and replace any of the existing pool equipment or sidewalk. I'm sorry for what seems like a bad experience on your behalf but again, if we had failed to report the negative slope then we would have been in non compliance and that may have made for an even worse experience down the road. Please feel free to contact me if there is anything we might be able to help with.
