We will customize your menu to suit your taste and budget. We will decorate your buffet tables at no additional cost with props that we have and have custom made to impress your guests. The quote we live by is "We're only as good as our last meal". A Catered Affair has been catering in Las Vegas since 1996. We have done many types of events such as wedding receptions, bridal showers, baby showers, birthday parties, anniversaries, christenings, LGBT weddings, fundraisers, and campaigns. We cater on holidays too, such as Christmas, 4th of July, Memorial Day, and New Years Eve. We cater at your residence or home as well as your office. We prepare all food fresh on location. We will help you plan your event and order the rentals too. We pass savings where we can on to our clients. You get what you pay for, and if you want quality catering call us. About the Chef: Executive Chef Daniel Mumau started his career in food service in 1981. Since then, he has served in the U.S. Army where he won numerous awards in culinary competitions and competed at the national level in 1987 winning the ACF Award of Merit and the prestigious Judges Award. After serving in the army, Chef Dan enrolled at the C.I.A. regarded as the top culinary school in the US. He moved to Las Vegas in 1989 upon graduation. He worked at various hotels, the Las Vegas Convention Center and Canyon Gate Country Club before starting A Catered Affair in 1996. Chef Dan started the company while attending UNLV College of Business and graduated in 2000. He has been a life long member of the American Culinary Federation and a proud member of the Executive Chefs of Las Vegas upon relocating to Las Vegas in 1989. He holds certificates in food safety, nutrition and management with the American Culinary Federation and is certified by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration.

We have hired Chef Dan twice - for our wedding and then a few years later for a special birthday party. Both events were outstanding! Chef Dan was wonderful to work with. He was helpful in offering ideas about dishes that would hold up well with a crowd of our size, go well together and present well too. Everyone commented on how flavorful our food was & how beautiful our displays were too. Chef Dan & his staff were professional and friendly. They made sure everyone was satisfied especially the host & hostess. When they returned the second time they pointed out all the renovations we made and remembered the complete layout of the first party without being told a thing. It was amazing. They have a REAL attention to detail, are genuine & the food is second to none. I also recommended Chef Dan to my friend for her wedding 1 year ago. She had the same outstanding experience. For me it was wonderful to see Chef Dan again & have some more of his fabulous cooking.

Dan Mumau and Mike Lawless have catered our annual barbecue for a dozen years. They have also created beautiful menus for our greenhouse tours. Their food is imaginative, delicious, and plentiful, and their service is gracious, attentive and friendly. They are a delight! You cannot go wrong in choosing them. You will love everything they do!

Daniel catered a highly regarded pharmaceutical event for me in Las Vegas. This event was performed out of state for my company so I had to depend on Daniel to ensure everything would be taken care of professionally. Daniel performed amazingly well and I could not have asked for someone who was so content and ready to assist me in any way possible. The food was amazing! I met Chef Dan at an event for my company and was so impressed with the taste and presentation of his food that I hired him to cater my 160 people backyard wedding. He spent time meeting us at the rental company, came over to discuss our needs several times and made us so comfortable that we knew we were in good hands. He catered the rehearsal dinner and the wedding. Everything was beautiful, he and his associates do a wonderful presentation. The food was out of this world! I have recommended him to our neighbors who plan to use our back yard for their wedding next May. I would use him again and recommend him to everyone!

Every year we host a open house for about 200 clients which is catered by A Catered Affair. Chef Daniel provides much more than wonderful food he creates a presentation with decorations, food, and staffing. Chef Daniel's staff is always professional, warm, and friendly, they are great from beginning to end and make everything so easy. Our clients love Chef Daniel's dishes so much that they actually request repeat items from one year to the next. With Chef Dan I don't have to worry about anything. He always makes the event perfect.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

    Make sure you get what you pay for. We offer freshly prepared food made to order at your event. We set up and decorate for the event free of charge. We do not drop off pre-made food. We arrive hours ahead and prepare it all on site so you and your guests will experience the freshest possible food that would compare to a fine restaurant. We clean up when we are done too.
