He told me that he would be back early in the week to fix the problem with the faucet. It has a regulator and only emits a small amount of water. No water pressure. It has been over a week and he has not called to come back. He was here fixing the faucet and installing the microwave for over 5 hours. That seems like a LONG time to me. I do realize though that plumbing problems come up quite often. I received a call back and I am hoping that he will be able to complete the job soon. It is hard with a crazy schedule here though. I just hope we can get the faucet regulator taken out so we can have some water pressure again. Dru is a very nice guy and he seems quite knowledgeable. It is just hard to work out the schedule.

Details: Less than 2 hours (Simple tasks) • Repairs • Kitchen • Plumbing • Appliances • Home

Overall, this guy was awesome, for comparative purposes I will tell you that I had already tried with THREE other contractors and a local handyman in my area, they all came out to look at my roof, hemmed and hawed and said they would "get back with an estimate..." only one did and it was $8,000. Then I looked on the internet, found "Thumbtack," and eventually got "Grandpa's Handyman," well, at first I was almost worried by the enthusiasm shown for taking on the project, there are so many people who SAY that they "can do" but then when they get started they just "don't do" or don't finish. In this case I was pleasantly surprised, this one guy (Drew) shows up the next day all by himself, and starts on the relatively large and complex job of tearing out the old rotted roof, rebuilding and re-sloping the roof, installing new insulation, and finally re-roofing about 1,200 square feet of roof. No stops, no stalls, no slow-downs, just work, and I would pay him every day for a days work and get any stuff he needed from the hardware store for the next day's work. Kept things simple and straight forward the way I like it, at any time I could have said stop and that would be that, UNLIKE a contractor who usually takes all the money upfront and you have to just hope they will finish the work, this guy kept the accounts square with me every day, and things ended up costing less that half what that other "professional roofing contractor" would have taken just to start work. What I really liked was that we talked BRIEFLY, I told him what I wanted, he got started and things just proceeded exactly as I had wanted, no stupid mistakes or mishaps (for example the last professional roofers had cut telephone lines and such), no accidents, no fires, like I was worrying about, just work until the job was done.
